Bootstrapping the First Peers of an Experimental P2P Network
by Loid Protagonist 22 Sep '26

22 Sep '26

I'm working on an experimental peer-to-peer electronic cash implementation called Queen. The current implementation supports nodes, mining, transactions and independent verification. The source code and setup instructions are publicly available, and the system can be run independently from the repository. I've tested the network with multiple local nodes. The remaining practical problem is bootstrapping the first independent peers outside my own devices. I'm interested in hearing how others have approached initial peer discovery and bootstrapping for small experimental P2P networks. I'm not looking for funding or investment. I'm simply trying to get the network communicating with nodes operated by other people. Queen Use Cash First Experiment
by Loid Protagonist 14 Sep '26

14 Sep '26

Hello, I’m conducting a small experiment with Queen. The question is simple: What happens when a newly mined coin is used before anyone assigns an initial value to it? For this experiment: - Block reward: 1 Queen - Decimal precision: 8 decimal places - Initial value: not defined - No exchange rate is set - No investors are being sought - No financial return is promised - No one is required to accept Queen I am not assigning an initial value to Queen. Anyone who is interested can voluntarily decide what they would consider a fair exchange. For this first experiment, I am also not asking for the goods or property being offered. The idea is simply that two people voluntarily agree to make a transaction using Queen. If you have something you would be willing to offer for Queen, make an offer. If we both agree, we make the transaction. The item or property you offer remains yours. The agreement and the transaction are what matter. Once a transaction is submitted, it can be observed using View_mempool.py while pending, and later verified on-chain after confirmation. There is no predefined price. If nobody is interested, nobody makes an offer, or no transaction takes place, that is also a valid result of the experiment. Use cash first. Price later. From Shells to Peer-to-Peer
by Loid Protagonist 06 Sep '26

06 Sep '26

Long ago: Shells → witness → fish Then: Banking → gold → money → banking And later, it became more complicated: Banking → banker → money → government → app → money → market → app → courier → app → user → money → app → banker → banking Today: Peer-to-peer. Why has moving value from one person to another become so complicated? Sometimes we have solutions, but we also create new obstacles. Perhaps the challenge is not only creating new forms of money, but making value move directly from value to value, without requiring a trusted third party. A street note.Loid Protagonist Dikirim dengan email aman [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/mail/home).

Queen Open Source Electronic Cash
by Loid Protagonist 02 Sep '26

02 Sep '26

Hello, I am developing Queen, an experimental open-source peer-to-peer electronic cash system. The project explores a simple blockchain-based electronic cash system without a trusted third party, with the node, wallet, transactions, mining, and blockchain implemented as open-source software. GitHub: https://github.com/loidprotagonist/Queen Whitepaper: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nfD79S52X1nFtw4q8Y4oMiYYc8eOF912/view?usp=… Queen is still experimental and is not intended to be production-ready software. I am sharing it primarily as an independent experiment and would greatly appreciate any feedback or discussion from the P2P community. Best regards,Loid Protagonist Dikirim dengan email aman [Proton Mail](https://proton.me/mail/home).

Invitation to participate in round 2 of the Futures of Digital Democracy Survey (FDDS) Hello, https://digital-democracy.net/d/index.php/285954 We want to invite you to participate in the second round of an expert survey that addresses a key political topic of our time: the future of democracy in the digital age and the rise of authoritarianism. The EU research project INNOVADE: Innovative Democracy through Digitalisation https://innovade-democracy.eu/ studies digital democracy. Paderborn University’s INNOVADE research team (led by Christian Fuchs) runs the Futures of Digital Democracy Survey (FDDS): hhttps://digital-democracy.net/d/index.php/285954 In round 1, digital democracy experts assessed the opportunities and risks of digital democracy. Building on the results of round 1 and reporting some of the round 1 results, we invite you to now take part in round 2 and to reflect on the round 1 results and additional topics. The focus of round 2 is the question of how (digital) society should and could look like in 2036 - desirable and undesirable digital futures and how we can achieve desirable futures and avoid undesirable ones. Participation will take around 10 minutes: https://digital-democracy.net/d/index.php/285954 The goal of the survey is to analyse how digital media experts assess the potential futures of digital society. The datasets of both survey rounds will be published as open data in the open research repository zenodo.org INNVADE will use the results of the survey as inputs to European Union policy debates on the future of democracy. We’d be happy if you were able to participate. Below you find some links to research that INNOVADE has already conducted on the topic of digital democracy. Fw: Fw: Info

Mark: You and your compatriots on P2P view the world from revisionism. Go ahead and keep looking through your microscope-provided by your "teachers." Or take the time and read some very old documented evidence available at a library near you= but you may need to stay there awhile on microfiche. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Janssen Sent: Sunday, October 23, 2011 4:39 PM To: P2P Foundation mailing list Subject: Re: [P2P-F] Fw: Info On Sun, Oct 23, 2011 at 10:32 AM, Natalie Golovin <10natalie(a)cox.net> wrote: > The European Tribes treated the Natives no worse than they treated each > other. Whoa. You should really stop talking. You have NO idea what you're talking about. How about forced acculturation, not allowing them to speak their own language (which hold the record of their own history), confined them under threat of violent force into reservations, among other things. But, really, that's probably not even the worst of it -- the worst of it is that for reasons they couldn't ever understand is why you were doing all of these cruel things when they were willing to share it it all with you. Why, when they handed out their hand to be friends, you chopped it off. Remember, they're the ones who gave us Thanksgiving which is still "celebrated" in this nation today. Read the reports made of making first contact with the Native peoples here. You really should read up before propagating the attitudes of conquest. Book talk "World War and World Peace in the Age of Digital Capitalism" (Christian Fuchs)
by Christian Fuchs 21 Oct '25

21 Oct '25

https://iamcr.org/webinars/war-peace-digitalcapitalism The International Association for Media and Communication Research’s Political Economy Section host a webinar where Christian Fuchs will introduce his book „World War and World Peace in the Age of Digital Capitalism“. When: Tuesday 18 November, 2025 @18h00 CEST/ 09h00 Los Angeles / 12h00 New York / 17h00 London / 18h00 Berlin / 20h00 Nairobi / 22h30 Kolkata. The event will last 1 hour. Registration by 16 November here: https://forms.gle/iQEUuS7VmCPmXZ48A In this talk, Christian Fuchs introduces some aspects of his book „World War and World Peace in the Age of Digital Capitalism“. World politics has become highly polarised. We live in times when a new world war has become more likely. The United Nations’ 2024 Pact for the Future expresses concerns about ”the growing risks of a nuclear war which could pose an existential threat to humanity“. Will humanity descend into barbarism and world war, or will we realise the dangers of our global problems, weapons of mass destruction, and the threats posed by a potential new world war, and a climate catastrophe in order to avoid annihilation and create perpetual world peace? The book deals with violence, world war, and world peace in global digital capitalism. It asks: How do violence and war manifest themselves in global digital capitalism? How do digital capitalism and digital technologies manifest themselves in violence and warfare? What are the prospects for world peace today? In order to prevent world war and advance world peace, we need a better understanding of war and violence and of their contexts and causes. We need to ask what war is, what violence is, what war and peace look like today and how they have changed in the 21st century.
