dear David, I have great difficulties lately to monitor my emails, 5755 to go <g>, and so I missed this important response, and the ones following which I will process in a moment. The first thing for me, is perhaps that we can organize a common skype with joshua vial / Alanna Krause for Enspiral, Robert Pye for Ethos, you and Natalia for lasindias, tibi from Sensorica, perhaps others ? And then see from there if it makes sense to have some extra layer of alignment between 'proto-phyles' I copy Ann-Marie for the p2p foundation, for assistance in coordinating any such meetup if there is agreement on doing it. Since the previous email in this thread is an email from our recently deceased P2P colleague Jean Lievens, I am sharing a special thought in his remembrance, Michel On Mon, May 23, 2016 at 6:12 PM, David de Ugarte <david(a)lasindias.coop> wrote: > We completely agree!! > > It is a nodal moment because this convergence, I guess, reflects a > deepening concern in wide social sectors. Fwd: [NetworkedLabour] What is the Cultural Left movement?
by Michel Bauwens 12 Oct '16

12 Oct '16

---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Cultural Left <admin(a)culturalleft.org> Date: Tue, Oct 11, 2016 at 2:18 AM Subject: [NetworkedLabour] What is the Cultural Left movement? To: networkedlabour(a)lists.contrast.org *Presenting in a critical way peoples current cultural expectations.* The Cultural Left is a progressive cultural movement based in London. The Cultural Left movement has been formed as a respond to the everyday concerns and awareness of the vast majority of the people working in the Arts, Cultural and Creative Industries and sectors. This respond is implemented with the use of modern tools of cultural economy, policy and management, in order to link the elements of what we perceive today as what culture is, as it is reflected by social, economic, political and cultural events and activities. The Cultural Left movement aims to connect these elements with the state, the economy and politics through the perspective of creativity and cultural pursuits, through the citizens’ labours, through their expressions and their narratives. Today these elements are completely disconnected and dismantled. We have to answer to that essential social request, by using the same tools the government uses, in order to create useless policies. We respond by suggesting something practically viable, acceptable by the general public, formed by the general public and the people around us. This can take place by following the known social awareness and collective thinking, analysis and expressions in a different manner, suggesting at the same time something important and essential for the creative people and societies, in terms of real economy, by encouraging healthy synergies. *Today* The Cultural Left members are currently in the process of commiting to paper the Manifesto, the Objectives and the Principles of the movement.
by Michel Bauwens 09 Oct '16
