Here you have the final press release of Quito Buen Conocer Summit. It is been a fantastic experience, an amazing prototype for creating public policy from open and copyleft paradigms. The Summit was more a hackmeeting than an event, mixing experts and local leaders, academic and amateurs. Langdon Winner, for example, said in his twitter account, that it was the best summit he had ever been. Michel Bauwens <https://www.facebook.com/mbauwens>, as you know, has been deeply working on this project that could serve as method for changing the economic matrix of capitalism. We have to congratulate him and the researchers for their workd and for accepting the papers as drafts, improved by collective intelligence. We have the press release also in Spanish. http://pt.slideshare.net/floksociety/press-release-cumbre <http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpt.slideshare.net%2Ffloksociety%…> Video FLOK Doctrine> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgTL1p1JEsk Best Bernardo -- www.futuramedia.net www.codigo-abierto.cc @bernardosampa (twitter) / @futura_media São Paulo +55 11 43044380 (fijo) +55 11 84881620 (celular) n _______________________________________________ Commoning mailing list Commoning(a)lists.wissensallmende.de http://lists.wissensallmende.de/mailman/listinfo/commoning -- *Please note an intrusion wiped out my inbox on February 8; I have no record of previous communication, proposals, etc ..* P2P Foundation: http://p2pfoundation.net - http://blog.p2pfoundation.net <http://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/p2p-foundation>Updates: http://twitter.com/mbauwens; http://www.facebook.com/mbauwens #82 on the (En)Rich list: http://enrichlist.org/the-complete-list/

Fwd: [Networkedlabour] CFP Material Matters in Times of Crisis Capitalism: Transnational Feminist and Decolonial Approaches

deadline passed ? ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Martin Mair <mm(a)mediaweb.at> Date: Tue, Jun 3, 2014 at 4:10 AM Subject: [Networkedlabour] CFP Material Matters in Times of Crisis Capitalism: Transnational Feminist and Decolonial Approaches To: networkedlabour(a)lists.contrast.org Please note the deadline for proposal for the conference “Material Matters in Times of Crisis Capitalism” has been extended. NEW DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS 01.06.2014 For further information check: http://materialmattersconference.wordpress.com/ International Conference, 13th – 15th November 2014 Institute of Sociology, Justus-Liebig University, Giessen CALL FOR PAPERS Material Matters in Times of Crisis Capitalism: Transnational Feminist and Decolonial Approaches The question of materiality has emerged as a central topic in studies concerned with the body, affect, sexuality, bio-politics and digital culture in recent years. Under the umbrella term “new materialism”, this interdisciplinary and multifaceted academic debate seems to have revived a Marxist vocabulary. Yet, the question of why “materiality” matters in times of crisis capitalism is rather absent in this debate. This international conference (papers will be accepted in Spanish, Portuguese, German and English) takes up this question by focusing on why and how materiality matters in times of crisis capitalism. Starting from the assumption that crisis is not exceptional in capitalism but its constant companion and that it represents the foundation from which the modern/colonial world system has evolved, this conference draws on critical feminist economics and decolonial feminist thought and practice on material matters. The conference has three inter-related aims: first, to examine from transnational feminist perspectives the impact of the global crisis on people’s livelihoods; second, to explore the theoretical contributions of the triad of feminism, coloniality and political economy; and, third, to consider critical feminist economics and decolonial approaches to thinking alternative economies and convivial futures. In this spirit we have invited key contemporary thinkers, who have linked academic work to political activism and social intervention. Confirmed keynote speakers for the conference include: * Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak (Columbia University) * Rhoda Reddock (University of the West Indies, St. Augustine) * Lourdes Benería (Cornell University) * Gülay Toksöz (Ankara University) * Gladys Elizabeth Tzul Tzul (Benemérita Universidad de Puebla) * Marina Gržinić (Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna) As well as inviting academic papers this conference also calls for contributions from activists and artists in a variety of formats such as blogs, radio programmes, video clips and performances on the following themes (though these are by no means exhaustive): * Between Crisis and Change: Feminism, Living Well and Conviviality (Sumak Kawsay, Suma Qamaña-Buen Vivir, Buen Convivir) * Queer, Transgender and Feminist approaches to Decolonizing Political Economy * Austerity, Gender & Migration * Sharing Responsibilities – Rethinking Reproduction * Feminization and the Coloniality of Labour * Alternatives to Crisis Capitalism: From Time-Banks to the Politics of Affect Please send a title, an abstract of max. 250 words in English, Spanish, Portuguese or German, a brief biography and registration form to femlabour(a)gmail.com by extended deadline 01.06.2014. Successful abstract submissions will be notified by 01.07.2014. Please check the conference webpage for further information: http://materialmattersconference.wordpress.com/ <http://materialmattersconference.wordpress.com/> Registration closing: September 1, 2014 No fees will be charged, but you will need to pay for the conference dinner, your own travel and accommodation. The conference programme, information on the conference venue, conference dinner and accommodation facilities will be announced in due course. Conference Organizing Team: Encarnación Gutiérrez Rodríguez, Chair in Sociology (Allgemeine Soziologie), Ceren Türkmen and Sebastian Garbe, wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter/in (Research Assistants/Lecturers), Institute of Sociology, Justus-Liebig University, Giessen. _______________________________________________ transversal mailing list | info: http://lists.servus.at/ mailman/listinfo/transversal ----- E-Mail ist virenfrei. Fw: A chance for Sovereign Money in Switzerland

View this email in your browser Dear Robert, Exciting News from Switzerland: An Initiative for a referendum on monetary reform is starting! 1) “Vollgeld” Initiative In Switzerland anyone can bring about a national referendum on changes to the Constitution by collecting 100,000 signatures within an 18 month period. It's called a “people’s initiative”. Our sister organisation in Switzerland (MoMo) is launching “Vollgeld Initiative” on 7th June! Support Sovereign Money in Switzerland Read more about it here You can help too even if you are not Swiss citizen One way to help would be to donate. MoMo (Monetäre Modernisierung) need many people on the streets explaining what it's all about and collecting signatures, and at the moment all of them are volunteers. They would like to pay for two people to work full-time coordinating the campaign. There are costs to get the signatures validated, and for campaign materials (flyers etc.), distribution etc. This will cost about 500,000 Swiss Francs (£330,000) in total. (Aside: Hardly any Swiss initiatives have been successful with less than around 500,000 Swiss francs). To date they have about 200,000 Francs donated. If you were able to support this initiative, it could just make all the difference to bringing this important referendum to Switzerland, and perhaps even become the catalyst for monetary reform in other countries. To contribute to the Vollgeld campaign using PayPal, please follow this link: Support Sovereign Money in Switzerland Or, to use online banking, the details are: IBAN: CH61 0900 0000 6035 4546 4, SWIFTBIC or BIC: POFICHBEXXX (For anyone needing help making larger donations, please ring Emma on her English number: 07958458386 or email at emma.dawnay(a)gmail.com) Thank you! 2) Upcoming Events Stroud, May 27-31 Exhibition Money Wales, May 31 Positive Money Stall at the Merthyr Rising Festival London, June 1 Sunday Papers Live with Ben Dyson Cheltenham, June 2 Positive Money Meetup London - Hackney, June 2 Positive Money Meetup Cardiff, June 3 What is Sovereign Money?
