Mark: You and your compatriots on P2P view the world from revisionism. Go ahead and keep looking through your microscope-provided by your "teachers." Or take the time and read some very old documented evidence available at a library near you= but you may need to stay there awhile on microfiche. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Janssen Sent: Sunday, October 23, 2011 4:39 PM To: P2P Foundation mailing list Subject: Re: [P2P-F] Fw: Info On Sun, Oct 23, 2011 at 10:32 AM, Natalie Golovin <10natalie(a)cox.net> wrote: > The European Tribes treated the Natives no worse than they treated each > other. Whoa. You should really stop talking. You have NO idea what you're talking about. How about forced acculturation, not allowing them to speak their own language (which hold the record of their own history), confined them under threat of violent force into reservations, among other things. But, really, that's probably not even the worst of it -- the worst of it is that for reasons they couldn't ever understand is why you were doing all of these cruel things when they were willing to share it it all with you. Why, when they handed out their hand to be friends, you chopped it off. Remember, they're the ones who gave us Thanksgiving which is still "celebrated" in this nation today. Read the reports made of making first contact with the Native peoples here. You really should read up before propagating the attitudes of conquest. Sorry.... marcos _______________________________________________ P2P Foundation - Mailing list http://www.p2pfoundation.net https://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/p2p-foundation

Care about this planet of ours? Well, the following events and ideas offer you new and powerful ways to do something about it! Register for the online BetterWorldForum 2012 This important online forum will take place this weekend (28/29th April) from 10am (U.S.Eastern Daylight Time). Including talks and interviews with prominent thought leaders, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Deepak Chopra, Hazel Henderson and others, you can listen in online and submit your questions. Fw: Make Apple ditch dirty coal
by robert searle 26 Apr '12

----- Forwarded Message ----- From: "Pete Speller, Greenpeace" <mail(a)mail.greenpeace.org.uk> To: dharao4(a)yahoo.co.uk Sent: Wednesday, 25 April 2012, 18:27 Subject: Make Apple ditch dirty coal Apple relies on coal. Make the technology giant clean up its act Hi there, Today, Greenpeace volunteers went to Apple's flagship store in London to expose the truth about how much coal goes into powering 'the cloud' - the giant data centres which store and send all the pictures, emails, songs and streaming videos we enjoy every day. Apple's iCloud is one of these services partially powered by coal. As a leading technology company, Apple could lead the way by powering the data centres that host its iCloud with clean, renewable energy. Tell Apple to switch off coal and clean our cloud - email CEO Tim Cook now Last year, you helped persuade Facebook to move towards clean energy which was an amazing success - thank you! Other companies like Google and Yahoo are also industry leaders with data centres powered by renewable energy. Now it's time for Apple to join them by switching off coal. Apple knows the future is in renewable energy - its HQ in Ireland runs on 100% renewable energy and it has made an encouraging announcement about one of its US data centres. But the bulk of its iCloud data centres are trailing behind and are still reliant on a Victorian power source, coal. Tell Apple CEO Tim Cook to switch off coal and power the cloud with clean renewable energy After all, as visionary Apple founder Steve Jobs famously said, "...the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do." Today, it's time for Apple to live up to that spirit. And it's up to us to lead the way. Fw: Good news.

----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Bill McKibben - 350.org <organizers(a)350.org> To: robert searle <dharao4(a)yahoo.co.uk> Sent: Thursday, 19 April 2012, 19:51 Subject: Good news. Dear friends, Good news this time. At some point every one of us at 350 has thought to ourselves a little despairingly: is the world ever going to catch on to climate change? Today is one of those days when it feels like it just might happen. A story on the front page of yesterday’s New York Times described a new poll -- Americans in record numbers are understanding that the planet is warming because they’re seeing the “freaky” weather that comes with climate change. And the story ends by describing the next step in this process: May 5, the giant Connect the Dots day that people are joining all around the globe: www.ClimateDots.org When the zeitgeist conspires to help our efforts, we need to make the most of it. Two weeks is plenty of time to organize a beautiful photo for May 5, one that will help spread this idea. Are you in a place where flood and rain have caused havoc? Ten people with umbrellas can make a memorable “climate dot” for all the world to see. You’ll think of something appropriate for your place -- and you can find lots of examples and ideas here. This movement is growing quickly, and with not a moment to spare -- new data from scientists like Jim Hansen at NASA shows that our carbon emissions have already made extreme weather many times more likely. We can’t take back the carbon we’ve already poured into the atmosphere, but if we work together hard and fast then we can keep it from getting steadily worse. When you’re on the front page of the Times it’s a sign that the message is starting to get through -- but only one American in 300 reads that newspaper. Now it’s up to all of us to make sure that everyone around the world gets the message, and Connect the Dots day on 5/5 is our best chance to do that. Please join us. Onwards, Bill McKibben for 350.org P.S. It is key to remember that these photos from May 5 are not just for their effect on that day. We need a bank of images showing the human face of global warming -- pictures we’ll use for the hard and direct political work of the next few years. If people don’t know there’s a problem, they won’t try to solve it. So let’s show them on 5/5. Here's a heartbreaking example, from some local activists in Texas in the USA: ________________________________ ARTICLES & INFO * Poll: Americans are Connecting the Dots (New York Times Article) | go.350.org/IyR9Lr * March Heat Records Crush Cold Records by Over 35 To 1, Scientists Say Global Warming Loaded The Dice | ThinkProgress go.350.org/HRdwLb ________________________________ 350.org is building a global movement to solve the climate crisis.
