The Imaginal World....
by robert searle 21 Nov '11

In reference to the use of the word Imaginal for a title of a NGO just mentioned in a previous email it is an interesting coincidence that I was thinking about the term of "Imaginal World" coined by Henry Corbin. Here, is bio link of the latter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Corbin As Einstein put it.................. Imagination is more than Knowledge...

Fwd: Invitation from Nicanor Perlas: MISSION Possible Book Launch
by Michel Bauwens 21 Nov '11

21 Nov '11

hi Roberto, do you have any evaluation on this? Michel ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: mission <weareimaginals(a)gmail.com> Date: Mon, Nov 21, 2011 at 4:56 AM Subject: Invitation from Nicanor Perlas: MISSION Possible Book Launch To: [If at any point you have moved outside Manila, maybe you can still send the invitation to your friends who are in Manila. AND for those in Manila, kindly forward the invitation to your friends.] ** (You may also RSVP Tammy 09209064793 / 09166445806 or you may reply to this e-mail. Thank you!) *MISSION POSSIBLE!* Sow Courage; Reap a New World This book is a tell-all story of a new movement - *MISSION* - Movement of Imaginals for Sustainable Societies Through Initiatives, Organizing, and Networking. MISSION is energizing Filipinos from all walks of life in many parts of the country to truly serve the Philippines and the world through a startling, innovative and effective approach to change. It illustrates how such a feat is possible amidst all the hindrances in life. Moreover, it makes the case for how, from empowered individuals with a real sense of their own truth *and* from collectives of such individuals, new institutions, new societies, new worlds *will* arise. Nicanor Perlas is a recipient of, among others, the Alternative Nobel Prize and The Outstanding Filipino Award and is the author of more than 500 articles, monographs, and books on creating a better world. He is a global resource person and speaker on integral sustainable development. Recently, in his most recent book, *Storm Before the Calm*, Neale Donald Walsch, whose books have sold in the millions, cites Perlas' societal threefolding work and MISSION as essential to the "creation of humanity's New Cultural Story", a story essential to the future of humanity. -- Let all of us be of one mind. May we be of one undivided heart. -- P2P Foundation: http://p2pfoundation.net - http://blog.p2pfoundation.net Connect: http://p2pfoundation.ning.com; Discuss: http://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/p2p-foundation Updates: http://del.icio.us/mbauwens; http://friendfeed.com/mbauwens; http://twitter.com/mbauwens; http://www.facebook.com/mbauwens

"The Economics Anti-Textbook" ?
by Dante-Gabryell Monson 20 Nov '11

20 Nov '11

http://www.scribd.com/doc/27119883/The-Economics-Anti-Textbook-A-Critical-T… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Economics_Anti-Textbook The main thrust of the authors' argument is that basic economics courses, being centered around models of perfect competition<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_competition>, are biased towards the support of free market<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_market> or laissez-faire <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laissez-faire> ideologies, and neglect to mention conflicting evidence or give sufficient coverage of alternative descriptive models. An example of the book's approach is the theories surrounding minimum wage<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_wage> . ... The book presents their own paradigm for interpreting economic behaviour. Despite not yet being reviewed in mainstream journals, as of February 2011 the introductory chapter has received 13,000 views onstumbleupon<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stumbleupon> [1] <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Economics_Anti-Textbook#cite_note-0> and the book has attracted positive comment on various blogs

[P2P-F] 28-year-old-is-making-sure-credit-cards-wont-exist-in-the-next-few-years
by Michel Bauwens 20 Nov '11

* http://www.businessinsider.com/this-28-year-old-is-making-sure-credit-cards… dea**r Sepp, could you look a**t** **this, also in a p**rac****tical way, I would in**tend 2 do fund**raising .. See: ** How does Dwolla work and how is it different from PayPal?* With Dwolla, payments are made directly from your bank account. No credit or debit cards are allowed. And because they don't exist in the system, we don't have to bring the fees into the system. You can spend any amount of money and when you do that, the person on the other end doesn't have to pay 1, 2, 3 or 4%. They only pay $0.25 a transaction, which is especially helpful when it's $1,000, $2,000 or $5,000 transactions. Obviously PayPal becomes very cost prohibitive with those larger transactions. The biggest difference between ideas like this and a PayPal — and PayPal is a phenomenal idea, Square is too — is that those are built on top of networks like Visa and MasterCard<http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/mastercard>. We're building our own. [image: dwolla]*Can users only send money to Dw**olla members?* No, you can send money to anyone. Only the person sending it has to have a Dwolla account to initiate the transaction. The person receiving it will have to sign up for an account, but we've been surprised at the conversion there. It's worked relatively well. We leverage social networks really heavily as contact lists, which is one thing we do really different. You can send money with an email address or with a phone number, but the most popular way to do it is to connect to Facebook<http://www.businessinsider.com/blackboard/facebook>and type in a friend's name.
