---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Mark Petz <ravenwyn(a)gmail.com> Date: 2011/11/26 Subject: Village Innovation Talks Begin! English Announcement To: videobridgebuilders(a)globalvillages.org, Alois Weimer < aloisweimer(a)gmail.com>, Karl Bär <karlbaer(a)gmail.com>, Michael Baer < Michlbaer(a)gmail.com>, Phil Rippingale <philrippingale(a)btinternet.com>, Michel Bauwens <michelsub2004(a)gmail.com> http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk%2FEnglishVersion Village Innovation Talks Begin! St.Martin, Siegendorf<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Siegendorf> , Kirchbach<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Kirchbach><http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?action=multilink&id=VillageInnovationTalk/…> , Bittelbronn<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Bittelbronn> , Odernheim<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Odernheim> ,Witzenhausen<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Witzenhausen> - On 16th of December 2011 they will start the first "Village Innovation Talk": Six innovative villages from Germany and Austria are connecting via Videobridging and they will openly exchange innovative approaches in various domains of village life.. In a relaxed pre-Christmas mood in local meeting places groups with something to say will come together. By projector, screen and sound, the groups will converse with each other. The aim of the Village Innovation Talks is for village innovators to dialogue, and learn from each other, to define new projects, and to get peer to peer support for them. "The mayor in an Amazonian area and a mayor from this round would have a lot to relate to each other. They might have to act under totally different conditions, but their aims – like fighting the flight to the cities, the creation of apt infrastructure, be it of energy, communication or entertainment are similar," states Klaus Stoll, Managing Director of GKPF (Global Knowledge Partnership Foundation), who are sponsoring the first Talk. The GKPF seeks to explore new ways and chances for sustainable development through the Village Innovation Talks.. They look to bring people from the Global North and Global South to create something new together. The participants in this first round of talks all have successful experiences to present in the areas of energy, broadband, culture and education. - Bittelbronn<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Bittelbronn>, with 580 villagers in Zollernalbkreis, has founded a cooperative to supply the locality with heating from renewable sources. - Also in the energy sector Odernheim<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Odernheim> has plans underway for a wind turbine park. In addition, the activities of the " Odernheim<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Odernheim> Future Viability Group", are targeting young entrepreneurs in creativity and future oriented fields to widen the scope of cultural offers. - Witzenhausen<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Witzenhausen> in Hesse, Räderwerk e.V. is raising awareness of connections between culture and work with small businesses, institutions and individuals on an old industrial site. - Dream Academia on the German-Hungarian border is the first „center for dream development“ and invites folks to implement and actualize their dreams across boundaries. - St.Martin in Waldviertel has created really concretely a fiber optic IT infrastructure that even surpasses the urban infrastructure. - Kirchbach<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?VillageInnovationTalk/Kirchbach><http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?action=multilink&id=VillageInnovationTalk/…> in Steiermark has brought the university into the village via Videobridging. Franz Nahrada, the founder of GVN (Global Village Network), sets his vision out "Villages which want to be sustainable must now proceed in many directions and new ways. Years back a network was founded, which wanted to use modern communication technologies, especiallyfor the purpose to let creative and innovative people in rural areas exchange their ideas freely . The time has come for such a dialogue!" AdobeConnect?<http://www.dorfwiki.org/wiki.cgi?action=browse&id=WillkommenImWiki&continue…> will be used as a technical solution as the video bridging software. In that system, only one computer connected to the Internet, with a webcam and browser is required. Start time is 16.00 o'clock End time is 19.30 o'clock. purported antisemitism of ows

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/22/nyregion/occupy-wall-street-criticized-fo… The Occupy Wall Street<http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/o/occupy_…>protests, now in their second month, have increasingly been criticized by a variety of groups, most of them politically conservative, for flashes of anti-Semitism. Among those calling attention to the issue have been the Republican National Committee, Rush Limbaugh and the columnist William Kristol. But the protests have also, on occasion, had a distinctly Jewish flavor: The encampment has coincided with the busy Jewish holiday season and has witnessed, in its midst or on its edges, a crowded Kol Nidre service on Yom Kippur, festive dancing with a scroll on Simhat Torah on Thursday night, and the sukkah. The protesters, clustered together in a kind of ad hoc Athenian democracy in the canyons of Lower Manhattan, firmly deny that their demonstrations against corporate greed and the political power of banks exhibit antagonism that singles out Jews. “You’re going to get a few wackos,” said Aaron Moses Miller, 25, a slender, unemployed man from Ridgewood, Queens, who had been in the park for 16 days. “You can’t help it in a population of this size.” Mr. Miller, who is Jewish, said that he had not seen the man holding the anti-Semitic signs, but said: “If I had seen him, I would have said something to him. My name is Aaron Moses Miller.” Jeff Smith, 41, part of the press team for Occupy Wall Street, assailed those who he said ascribed the views of one sign-holder to the entire movement. “To put someone out there to say, ‘This is who the group is,’ is about as dishonest as you can be,” Mr. Smith, who is also Jewish, said. “It’s yellow journalism.” And Marjorie Dove Kent, executive director of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, which has taken part in the protests, said that the movement had a diffuse leadership and that individual protesters had indicated their condemnation of the sign-carrying man by shouting him down. But much as the Tea Party movement initially grappled with accusations of racism, Occupy Wall Street has been consistently confronted with accusations of anti-Semitism. Several conservative Web sites and television programs have shown video of the sign-holder, as well as of a woman at an allied demonstration in Los Angeles who identified herself as a public school teacher and decried “Zionist Jews who are running the big banks and the Federal Reserve.” -- P2P Foundation: http://p2pfoundation.net - http://blog.p2pfoundation.net Connect: http://p2pfoundation.ning.com; Discuss: http://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/p2p-foundation Updates: http://del.icio.us/mbauwens; http://friendfeed.com/mbauwens; http://twitter.com/mbauwens; http://www.facebook.com/mbauwens

French video (with English subtitles) about the public debt issue in Europe
by Michel Bauwens 25 Nov '11

From: Jamie Brown [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, November 25, 2011 7:46 AM To: Ellen Brown; Marc Armstrong; Sergio Lub; Leland Lehrman; Hazel Henderson Subject: European public debt video Dear all, Here is a French video (with English subtitles) about the public debt issue in Europe. For those of us viewing from this side of the pond, it's very refreshing to see a European perspective!! Probably also interesting for y'all for comparative purposes. It uses different analogies from the one we've gotten used in all the American videos (e.g. here, the economy is a bathtub, money is water, and Fractional Reserve banking is the tap - very effective concepts!). It also has a focus on more European languaging/policy issues (e.g. Treaty of Lisbon). Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8fDLyXXUxM&feature=share Best, Jamie -- P2P Foundation: http://p2pfoundation.net - http://blog.p2pfoundation.net Connect: http://p2pfoundation.ning.com; Discuss: http://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/p2p-foundation Updates: http://del.icio.us/mbauwens; http://friendfeed.com/mbauwens; http://twitter.com/mbauwens; http://www.facebook.com/mbauwens
