EU : Thousands of "Billions" in european "solidarity" to "save" the Rich, yet cutting 75% of Food Bank "Millions" needed to feed the poor ?
by Dante-Gabryell Monson 27 Nov '11

In Europe, 79 million people live below the poverty line and among them, 30 million suffer from malnutrition. (Source: Eurostat and European Congress of Experts on Nutrition, 2009). http://www.eurofoodbank.org/ // http://www.eurofoodbank.eu/portail/index.php?option=com_content&view=articl… In fact 18 million people in need, in a context of increasing poverty in most countries in Europe, were threatened by a sharp reduction of 75% of the programme. This "temporary relief" will give thousands of associations delivering food aid a little more time to try to find other sources of supply. But the issue remains unresolved after 2013 // Personal Note : I understand from articles on this topic that it are 6 european countries ( Germany, Denmark, the UK, Czech Republic, Sweden and The Netherlands ) who want the cost of such policies to be taken nationally, arguing , based on a decision of the european court of justice, that the program has deviated from its initial purpose. Germany apparently already has a ( well ? ) functioning system of food redistribution, which leads it to be one of the main contributors to this european program without needing it in addition to its current approaches. Yet, as is currently done to save the current financial system ( including by avoiding national defaults through european schemes ), I can not believe, if plans for prospectively thousands of billions of euros can be set up at a european level, that no european solidarity solutions can be set up to replace the loss of resources planned for food banks ? // french article : http://www.lefigaro.fr/actualite-france/2011/11/14/01016-20111114ARTFIG0046… // Also see 2010 RT report : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIA4coQHZ3k

[Insider trading laws]: If you are a member of Congress, those laws are deemed not to apply, "

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57323221/congress-insiders-above-the-… "Steve Kroft reports on how America's lawmakers can legally make tidy profits on information only they know, simply because they won't pass a law against themselves. " "Among the revelations in Kroft's report: * Members of Congress have bought stock in companies while laws that could affect those companies were being debated in the House or Senate." "[Insider trading laws] apply to corporate executives, to Americans...If you are a member of Congress, those laws are deemed not to apply," he tells Kroft. "It's really the way the rules have been defined...[lawmakers]have conveniently written them in such a way as they don't apply to themselves," says Schweizer. Efforts to make such insider trading off limits to Washington's lawmakers have never been able to get traction." ...

Article : "Why on earth would Congress advise violent militarised reactions against its own peaceful constituents? "

The shocking truth about the crackdown on Occupy The violent police assaults across the US are no coincidence. Occupy has touched the third rail of our political class's venality - Naomi Wolf <http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/naomiwolf> - guardian.co.uk <http://www.guardian.co.uk/>, Friday 25 November 2011 17.25 GMT - - http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2011/nov/25/shocking-tru… - - large excerpts : - - "US citizens of all political persuasions are still reeling from images of unparallelled police brutality in a coordinated crackdown against peaceful OWS protesters in cities across the nation this past week<http://www.alternet.org/story/153134/caught_on_camera:_10_shockingly_violen…>." - - "The National Union of Journalists and the Committee to Protect Journalists issued a Freedom of Information Act request to investigate possible federal involvement with law enforcement practices that appeared to target journalists. The New York Times reported<http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/22/nyregion/nypd-stops-reporters-with-badges…> that "New York <http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/new-york> cops have arrested, punched, whacked, shoved to the ground and tossed a barrier at reporters and photographers" covering protests. " "Journalist Chris Hayes reported on a leaked memo<http://upwithchrishayes.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/19/8896362-exclusive-lo…> that revealed lobbyists vying for an $850,000 contract to smear Occupy. Message coordination of this kind is impossible without a full-court press at the top. This was clearly not simply a case of a freaked-out mayors', city-by-city municipal overreaction against mess in the parks and cranky campers. As the puzzle pieces fit together, they began to show coordination against OWS at the highest national levels." "The DHS cannot say, on its own initiative, "we are going after these scruffy hippies". Rather, DHS is answerable up a chain of command" "for the DHS to be on a call with mayors, the logic of its chain of command and accountability implies that congressional overseers, with the blessing of the White House, told the DHS to authorise mayors to order their police forces – pumped up with millions of dollars of hardware and training from the DHS – to make war on peaceful citizens." "The mainstream media was declaring continually "OWS has no message". Frustrated, I simply asked them. I began soliciting online "What is it you want?" answers from Occupy. In the first 15 minutes, I received 100 answers. These were truly eye-opening. The No 1 agenda item: get the money out of politics. Most often cited was legislation to blunt the effect of the Citizens United ruling, which lets boundless sums enter the campaign process. No 2: reform the banking system to prevent fraud and manipulation, with the most frequent item being to restore the Glass-Steagall Act – the Depression-era law, done away with by President Clinton, that separates investment banks from commercial banks. This law would correct the conditions for the recent crisis, as investment banks could not take risks for profit that create kale derivatives out of thin air, and wipe out the commercial and savings banks. No 3 was the most clarifying: draft laws against the little-known loophole that currently allows members of Congress to pass legislation affecting Delaware-based corporations in which *they themselves are investors*." "why on earth would Congress advise violent militarised reactions against its own peaceful constituents? The answer is straightforward: in recent years, members of Congress have started entering the system as members of the middle class (or upper middle class) – but they are leaving DC privy to vast personal wealth, as we see from the "scandal" of presidential contender Newt Gingrich's having been paid $1.8m for a few hours' "consulting" to special interests. The inflated fees to lawmakers who turn lobbyists are common knowledge, but the notion that *congressmen and women are legislating their own companies' profits*is less widely known – and if the books were to be opened, they would surely reveal corruption on a Wall Street spectrum. Indeed, we do already know that congresspeople are massively profiting from trading on non-public information<http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57323221/congress-insiders-above-the-…> they have on companies about which they are legislating " "Since Occupy is heavily surveilled and infiltrated, it is likely that the DHS and police informers are aware, before Occupy itself is, what its emerging agenda is going to look like. If legislating away lobbyists' privileges to earn boundless fees once they are close to the legislative process, reforming the banks so they can't suck money out of fake derivatives products, and, most critically, opening the books on a system that allowed members of Congress to profit personally – and immensely – from their own legislation, are two beats away from the grasp of an electorally organised Occupy movement<http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/occupy-movement> … well, you will call out the troops on stopping that advance. So, when you connect the dots, properly understood, what happened this week is the first battle in a civil war; a civil war in which, for now, only one side is choosing violence. It is a battle in which members of Congress, with the collusion of the American president, sent violent, organised suppression against the people they are supposed to represent. Occupy has touched the third rail: personal congressional profits streams. Even though they are, as yet, unaware of what the implications of their movement are, those threatened by the stirrings of their dreams of reform are not."

documentary on the American Holocaust which claimed, according to conservative estimates, 19 million Indigenous People.
by Michel Bauwens 27 Nov '11

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTrbVf6SrCc "The powerful and hard-hitting documentary, American Holocaust, is quite possibly the only film that reveals the link between the Nazi holocaust, which claimed at least 6 million Jews, and the American Holocaust which claimed, according to conservative estimates, 19 million Indigenous People. It is seldom noted anywhere in fact, be it in textbooks or on the internet, that Hitler studied Americas Indian policy, and used it as a model for what he termed the final solution." -- P2P Foundation: http://p2pfoundation.net - http://blog.p2pfoundation.net Connect: http://p2pfoundation.ning.com; Discuss: http://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/p2p-foundation Updates: http://del.icio.us/mbauwens; http://friendfeed.com/mbauwens; http://twitter.com/mbauwens; http://www.facebook.com/mbauwens

Not enough money to bail speculative world economy out ? - $235 trillion of OTC derivative leverage by just 4 US Banks
by Dante-Gabryell Monson 26 Nov '11

26 Nov '11

Perhaps someone else can help verify such figures : If we need to fill the gap for *12 thousand trillion in debt derivatives*, that would represent *1'714'286 dollars per person on this planet ... !?* ( *one million seven hundred thousand dollars per person on this planet* - considering seven billion people ) How much of these debt derivatives have gone bad ? Why not let the banks go bankrupt, after they created so much leveraged derivative debt to make profits with ? Why do we try to bail them out with tax payers money ? Is this a way to get everyone bankrupt... to the financial institutions? ( while they are the ones that are initially bankrupt ? ) *Who has some kind of count on real figures ?* ( excerpted some figures below ) // If so much money gets printed out as to bail out / "recapitalize" the banks, what is the effect on the value of money ? Are these currencies being debased ? ( see comparison between worth of dollar or euro Vs swiss frank or gold ? ) Is this part of currency wars ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_war What is the parallel with the pre-second world war period ? ( hyper inflation potential ? depression ? ... ) /// http://usawatchdog.com/four-biggest-banks-in-america-have-huge-leverage/ excerpts : According to the latest report from the Comptroller of the Currency, just four U.S. banks have an eye popping $235 trillion of OTC derivative leverage. (Click here for the complete Comptroller of the Currency report.)<http://www.occ.gov/topics/capital-markets/financial-markets/trading/derivat…> As a nation, U.S. banks have a total OTC derivative exposure of $250 trillion. So, the fact that just four U.S. banks have this much leverage and risk is astounding! The banks are listed below in order of size and approximate OTC exposure: 1.) JP MORGAN CHASE BANK NA OH $78.1 trillion OTC derivatives 2.) CITIBANK NATIONAL ASSN $56.1 trillion OTC derivatives 3.) BANK OF AMERICA NA NC $53.15 trillion OTC derivatives 4.) GOLDMAN SACHS BANK USA NY $47.7 trillion OTC derivatives Considering that the total assets of these four banks are a little more than *$5 trillion*, I see a frightening amount of risk with a total derivative exposure of *$235 trillion! * *///* *The Bank of International Settlements pegs the total world over-the-counter (OTC) derivative exposure at around $600 trillion, but many experts say the real figure is more than twice that amount. No matter which figure you use, it is a gargantuan sum. OTC derivatives are an unregulated dark pool of money with no public market. These are basically debt bets between two entities on things such as credit risk, currencies, interest rates and commodities. * *In effect, the Federal Reserve bailed out the world financial system. Now, we are right back to square one facing another financial meltdown with European banks and sovereign debt. If the Fed spent $16 trillion, why in the heck is this problem not fixed and why isn’t the world economy taking off like a rocket?” The simple answer is it wasn’t enough money. * *Further googling :* * http://www.google.be/search?gcx=w&sourceid=chrome&client=ubuntu&channel=cs&… * *as for the 16 trillion the fed spent ( revealed only after a new law enabled auditing of the fed ? )* * http://www.google.be/search?gcx=w&sourceid=chrome&client=ubuntu&channel=cs&… *

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I just made a search a while ago about this keyword and have already the first results, wow. I have written it just a week or ten days ago while translating it from the galician Cousateca, that is where i first read of. This is my application interface for the http://sharewiki.org/en/Category:Sharing_Invitations normative programming. They will be represented in a basic form hopefully for next week or the other. And into other more funny forms. I am still looking for ways for those forms to be "embeded" into all kinds of software, while having my favourite for that too. i.e. I'd like a shareable thing from the stuffary to be able to be for sale for currency in a whichever shop, while a 10% of the property of that to be donated to an entity which will grant its shareability of that 10%. let's see -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJO0PanAAoJEAlfUArKi+ECxhMH/0/Qem5fEGLqo+j3Wdl3tskW gOMZl9Su1B/eVn4abG2ZQVKTDUu/5a+fky5lCreITcJKIa4Lj1XD+B4QTYA3U6az k0HGdA8jKGvvHrDJuq4rnErP2NGYrmym+2KYnFWjaOqlipTUpaknLPXIHAW5GEBf iab9cvg/dcJuIhMpXJTqQYicQIBBSvEz2dg2xtvOzCrGy1lHwUCG3XWWpSMGTBMD ZnMD1d/mP8WfWN9bJDQ6lq9FhMMs30IUvhfl68L0jIAXpt7TBmplsKPHhJosuJLK 7ozT0+mKTzfJFMA4wiijkTj2IGTzaacD+zMXjIQinSMEyY0UePfNfSK86M0VDQo= =sJXr -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
