Re-Set -- Re-Claim -- Re-Boot. From anthropocentrism to Nature-centric Being-ness.

Please share RESET Reboot with our original cognitive system. Learn the world instead of the word. Reclaim our natural ability to create knowledge of the real world. Use your senses. Beware of conscious reasoning. let knowing take place. Don't analyze and create myths about understanding. Reclaim the ability to be in the unknown, to hold doubts, and to be in process. Realign with life. http://ekfoundation.in/reset-reclaim-rebel/ I am offering a program to explore how to reset our anthropocentric Being-ness to Nature-centric Being-ness. It is clear that we have been turned into human knowings instead of human beings through the kind of education we have been subjected to. As we are taught the written word (the description) instead of the real world our cognitive system rewires to understand what is absent and also numbs our senses. This activates 'imaginary' imagination instead of real imagination. The biggest damage to education is that from childhood we are exposed to the known and it destroys our ability to engage with the unknown. The program is to invite you to address your cognitive damages, reawaken your natural cognitive system and dare to step into the realm of the unknown. -- Jinan, TEXT DISTORTS, DIGITAL DESTROYS, WORLD AWAKENS http://kbjinan.in/ http://ekfoundation.in/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC80rT8Zj1EE8TrzD3UreYfQ www.re-cognition.org https://independent.academia.edu/JinanKodapully 09447121544

The center fosters a young generation of globally oriented environmental specialists. Equipped with international research, management and communication skills, even entry-level professionals will have a significant impact on the increasingly important field of climate adaptation. The Centre facilitates careers in the fields of water security and climate adaptation. A master's degree program on "Water Security and Global Change" and a joint doctoral program are being established in Aachen, Bangkok, Chennai and Dresden (ABCD), in addition to dialogue formats for young scholars. Graduates of Theology will thus have interesting options for further academic qualification, for example with the goal of a doctorate in the field of Climate Ethics and Development. The Centre does not provide full stipends, but offers a Start-up phase for project design and scholarship application in Germany. We’re currently working with the Mock COP team to produce a series of short films called My Climate Reality, highlighting the voices of young people at the frontline of the climate crisis. The films will be released around COP26 in November, and we hope they will have a powerful impact on UN Leaders and other influential stakeholders. We are now casting for the people and stories to feature in our films, and the Mock COP team recommended I contact your organisation. We’d love your help spreading the word as far and wide as possible! Specifically, we are looking for young people (Under 30) who are living on the frontline of the climate crisis, and whose daily reality is impacted by climate change. This could be somewhere with dramatic visual changes (sea level rises, fires, floods) or more surprising and subtle changes. Fwd: The Death of the Professor

This may be of interest. The mail below is from an economist friend (he calls himself a 'failed economist'!), who I wrote a book Churning the Earth: Making of Global India with. If anyone has thoughts on the book he pointed to, pl. do express! ashish -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: The Death of the Professor Date: Fri, 28 May 2021 06:42:38 +0530 From: Aseem Shrivastava <muftkigupshup(a)gmail.com> To: The French critic Roland Barthes welcomed a few generations ago 'the death of the author'...in the interests of the truth of a story...as Nietzsche said, "when the book opens its mouth, the author must shut up his." Likewise, I feel obliged and excited (!!) to welcome 'the death of the Professor'...in the interests of the living soul of thinking, feeling, suffering humanity... This <https://www.plutobooks.com/9780745341064/dark-academia/?utm_source=Pluto+Pr…> seems to redeem my abandonment of the academy 25 years ago...it confirm all my suspicions about the oncoming 'death of the professor'...to return the life of the mind back to the soul which must command it...rescuing it from protocol-onisation by the perversities of the universities...academia has long been stale macadamia... ;-) Let us look forward to enjoying the funeral! aseem

Video Contest on key development transitions and transformations
by Woiwode, Christoph 28 May '21

28 May '21

Dear PeDAGoG members, Below is an interesting opportunity for early career scholars working in the Global South on transitions and transformative development. Best regards, Christoph ---------------------------------------- The Global Development Network (GDN) is partnering with the French Development Agency, AFD, to conduct an online video contest on key development transitions taking place across the globe. The videos will tell the story of these transitions through the eyes of young researchers working in the Global South – influence the debate on transitions globally. The videos will link deep local knowledge and perspectives to the public discourse on global development through a variety of subjects such as climate, energy, gender, governance and more. If you are up to 40 years old and are a researcher from the Global South, apply by 4 July 2021. Through a two-step competitive selection, the contest will shortlist up to 20 videos. Shortlisted applicants will receive structured feedback and support (from both communications experts and research staff) before they are invited to re-work and submit a final and longer version of their video. All shortlisted participants who go through the revision and resubmission will compete for monetary prizes worth EUR 6,000. A Jury of senior academics co-chaired by Thomas Mélonio (Executive Director of Innovation, Research, and Knowledge, French Development Agency) and Pierre Jacquet (President, Global Development Network) will assign prizes to the 3 top videos. Both winners and finalists will have a chance to take part in further audio-video productions by AFD and by GDN, with the potential of gaining global visibility. DASH - A unique learning opportunity for students and alternative learners across India
by NEUSIEDL Christoph Andreas 28 May '21

28 May '21

Dear all, It would be fantastic if you can forward the below email to your students and circulate it in your networks. Project DEFY is starting a new virtual programme based on design thinking to help aspiring students develop and establish new and innovative solutions for community-based problems. For more information see below or feel free to contact me. Best, Christoph ______________________________________________ Warm greetings from Project DEFY. We hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe. We have an exciting new opportunity for students who want to get a fresh hands-on learning experience during these times. Last year we got an overwhelming response to our thingQbator Internship Program (TIP) with more than 1000 applications and about 250 participants! This year we are going bigger with our latest offering- the DEFY Academy for Solution Hacking (DASH). DASH is an intensive 2-month virtual learning program with two separate tracks. Built on the tenets of Design Thinking, the program will host a cohort of talented minds selected from across the country, and provide them a platform to think, explore, design, and test their ideas. In DASH, students work with communities, rather than for them, to solve the challenges they choose to take on. Apart from the guidance of seasoned mentors or experts in their respective fields, which the learners would have access to, they would also be engaging in various workshops, speaker sessions, team activities and group discussions to make the entire learning experience vivid, colorful and memorable. Students will build with mentoring from experts from MIT, Niti Ayog, Ankur Capital, GEN etc to get advantage of all sides of business! Apply here on this link: http://bit.ly/dash_apply<https://projectdefy.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b7a3a6511e9d0238aded…> Please refer to https://projectdefy.org/dash/<https://projectdefy.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b7a3a6511e9d0238aded…> for more details. Indian Book Edition of Revolutions in Learning and Education From India
by NEUSIEDL Christoph Andreas 28 May '21

28 May '21

Dear all, I wanted to let you know that the Indian paperback edition of my book "Revolutions in Learning and Education from India: Pathways Towards The Pluriverse" has recently been launched by Manohar Books. It is available here on Amazon<https://www.amazon.in/Revolutions-Learning-Education-India-Pluriverse/dp/10…> and you should also be able to order it from your local bookstore. Below are a few reviews of the book, which also comes with a wonderful foreword by Ashish Kothari. Of course I'd be very much happy to get your feedback on the book as well. Best, Christoph "Revolutions in Learning and Education from India is a fascinating exercise in rekindling hope, looking beyond our catastrophic present. Drawing on a number of different theoretical resources from postdevelopment thought to anarchism and the philosophy of Jacques Rancière, Christoph Neusiedl focuses on some novel experiments in the field of ‘education’ and ‘unschooling’ in India, to tell an amazing story of finding pathways to the pluriverse." – Aditya Nigam, Professor, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), India "Christoph Neusiedl's work moves beyond the idea of critically looking at what is happening in education as it engages with ideas and practices on the ground. The book provides a much needed insight into the question of transformative education in the Indian context through weaving together social theory, philosophy, and literature on education."— Ravi Kumar, Associate Professor, South Asian University, India "This timely book joins the growing chorus of critical voices calling for a radical rethinking of our assumptions about how children should be educated, in the face of contemporary political, environmental and economic crises. In focusing on the artificial hierarchies created and sustained by our current systems, and weaving together insights from postdevelopment theory, anarchist theory and philosophy of education, the author offers an original perspective on these critical questions. These theoretical perspectives are combined with a fascinating analysis of neo-liberal education policy and resistant unschooling practices in India, offering an inspiring illustration of the political significance of grass-roots radical education movements." – Judith Suissa, Professor of Philosophy of Education, Institute of Education, University College London, UK
