[implementations-list] issue with viper-escape-to-emacs
by Fabian Braennstroem 25 Apr '11

25 Apr '11

Hello, with the new vimpulse, I have a problem escaping back to emacs mode. I need this option to run some traditional 'M-x' functions. Up to now I used: (define-key viper-vi-global-user-map (kbd "\\\\") 'viper-escape-to-emacs) Unfortunately, this does not work anymore, as using M(Esc) for the next command cancels this escape and inserts the second of the backslash into the buffer... Would be nice, if you have a hint! Regards! Fabian

Sure, feel free to fill in their add form. But if you want Gmane to import the archives, don't fill in the add form; ask us to do it instead. Note that this might require more steps than a usual Gmane archives import, as ourproject.org is the list host, so we might have to ask them for a tarball of the archives. > Any objections/ideas? > > In any case, please could the mailing list maintainership be transferred > or extended to Vegard? If Vegard wants to take over list co-adminship from Alessandro, that's fine with me; in fact, I think it's a good idea, since I have so little time for Vimpulse-related tasks. I suggest that he phone me at +1 (416) 992-3445 between 11AM and 11PM Eastern Standard Time (Toronto time) to set a password. Štěpán, if Vegard doesn't reply within two weeks, you can be my list co-admin instead. Phone me. Mailman requires that all list co-admins must know one shared password. I don't like that but don't want to bother writing to the Mailman folks. -- Jason Spiro: software/web developer, packager, trainer, IT consultant. I support Linux, UNIX, Windows, and more. [implementations-list] [Vimpulse] Bug: C-h does viper-backward-char in dired (and probably other modes too)
by Alessandro Piras 30 May '10

I think it's preferable leaving C-h alone, for help's sake.

[implementations-list] [Vimpulse] Bug: Visual selection "r" command replaces newlines
by Alessandro Piras 29 May '10

29 May '10

Visual selecting text spread across multiple lines and doing r<some character> also replaces new-lines with <some character> __ Alessandro Piras

[implementations-list] [Viper/Vimpulse] Pressing q in a help windows doesn't close it.
by Alessandro Piras 29 May '10

29 May '10

How am I supposed to close the help window? C-z q is already boring. Also, with the current changes in the mailing list etc, where should I send the messages? __ Alessandro Piras

[implementations-list] I've unsubscribed from this list, but am still a co-admin. To reach me, CC me.
by Jason Spiro 26 May '10

Hi all, I unfortunately don't have enough time to remain on implementations-list nowadays. I've unsubscribed. I'm still list co-admin though, along with Alessandro. If you want to reach me, please write to the list and CC me directly. I've finally dealt with my entire email backlog. I hope to respond to all incoming vimpulse-related and list-related mails within a week or two in the future. [implementations-list] [Vimpulse] Fixing things in Vimpulse vs. Viper; XEmacs support (was: Bug: something's worng when pasting whole lines:)

You're the maintainer. It's 100% fine for you to stop supporting XEmacs if you want. If you do so, may I suggest you put in a message in the documentation stating what the last XEmacs-compatible Vimpulse version is, and pointing out that someone else can take over XEmacs support if they want. If you want, you can also decide that all the new XEmacs support code that people contribute from now on must go into a separate file in the Vimpulse source tree. But that might be a bit of a harsh decree. :) -- Jason Spiro: software/web developer, packager, trainer, IT consultant. I support Linux, UNIX, Windows, and more. Greets from an unsubscribed address! This message just tests if subscription is actually required for posting to the list. Sorry for the spam (in case it gets through). Štěpán

[implementations-list] [PATCH] Remove unused undo-list-munging code.

--- While looking at the code, I noticed that all of this is currently unused. Is that just an oversight, or are you actually planning to use it in the future?
