Feature request: put the mode indicator more on the left
by Alan Schmitt 01 Sep '11

01 Sep '11

Hello, I see that the mode indicator (<V>, <I>, etc) is the last thing on the right of the status bar. Unfortunately, when many minor modes are loaded (typically when doing some latex), the information is not visible. Is there a way to put the mode indicator more on the left? As a related question, is it possible to change the cursor depending on the mode? Thanks, Alan

"gf", "folding" and Insert state paste

Hi Vegard, I just added these, mostly copied from Vimpulse. The "Insert state paste" has slight adjustment based on what I implemented for Vimpulse a while ago. Thanks, York

Hooks for entering and exiting Insert State in Evil
by York Zhao 01 Aug '11

01 Aug '11

Hi, It seems to me that there are no hooks for entering and exiting Insert State in evil. So I'm doing the following workaround: (defadvice evil-insert ...) (defadvice evil-normal-state ...) The advice for `evil-insert' seems to be working but the advice for `evil-normal-state' was always being called even after entering Insert state. Can these hooks be added in evil? Or, is there any other mechanism for this? Thanks, York

Evil cursor color
by Thomas Hisch 01 Aug '11

Evil currently sets the cursor color to black which conflicts with my color-theme. Any ideas for a general solution to this problem? Commenting out (set-cursor-color ... ) in the evil code works for me. Regards Thomas

Evil with autocomplete mode
by Neeraj Sharma 30 Jul '11

I've found evil is not compatible with the auto-complete mode. Not sure how many people would be using this but it gets annoying as it somehow causes ESC or C-[ to not switch evil to normal mode. I have disabled auto-complete mode for now but may be someone has better idea to make them work together?
