Re: 2.6.21 kernel

Hola Tapani | Hola! | | I'm justing uploading 2.6.21 kernel to | http://linux.ilmainen.net/suomiknoppix/linux-2.6.21/ | The configuration is the same as in 2.6.21-rc7. OK! I will make this mail public! (If you dont mind!), because it inaugurates the Stable history of Musix! | I'm writing just now from it, using Iceweasel, compiling new 2.6.21-rt1 | kernel (realtime preemption kernel for you), listening music with | Amarok, sending kernel files with Gftp to the server and compressing my | new SuomiKnoppix with 2.6.21 kernel. Everything works great. This | kernel is wonderful! | | -tapsa- :-D Thanks Tapsa, now you can also watch some Videos made for the 5/5/2007 Musix's 1.0/Stable public presentation using this kernel :) http://www.musix.org.ar/video/ I know, they are in spanish, but I think you can like to see them. By the way: today I was installing Musix 1.0rc1 at an install fest here in La Plata, and I was telling the people: "2.6.21 stable must be ready this week, I think", so, you were right... also 2.6.21-rc7 is not bad at all. One last thing: Should I install the 2.6.21-rt1 kernel into the Live-CD, I mean: It will be compatible with aufs? or should I install 2.6.21 that is compatible with aufs for sure? In the last case, we should change http://linux.ilmainen.net/suomiknoppix/linux-2.6.21/minirt.gz (I did not watched it yet, but I can imagine it does not says "Welcome to Musix") :P Well, now Musix could be really a Stable system!! "E-mail : a.sluik(a)gmail.com Comment: Thank you for making a sick man happy with putting out this distro. I could never do all that work myself to put a music Linux distro together. You did it for me. I used to be a musician, now I can be one again. Thank you, thank you." Hi Andre Sluik, Thanks for you comment, but, are you sick of what? And, why does Musix could make you a musician again? The best release yet!
by Sean Edwards 26 Apr '07

I have been using Musix since 0.50, and I must say 1.0rc1 is the best so far! Thank you to Marcos and his excellent team for their best work ever! By the way, if there are any ubuntu users on this list, it appears that usb audio may be broken in Feisty Fawn 7.04. I wonder if that has something to do with the ubuntu studio project that was to have their first release this month . . . -=cybersean=- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi all, Finally, I managed to put some tracks online ! http://www.archive.org/details/TheTimelessClock Early stage for most of them, but I would like you guys to tell me which you like a little, a lot, or not at all. I'll probably continue to work on some of them. All music is made with linux only (Musix, thank you Marco !). Midi keyboard, mic (for voice and some djembe), freewheeling (for some of them rosegarden too), zynaddsubfx, dssi plugins, qsynth&soundfonts. Your comments are welcome ! Julien

how to get myself in the English desktop
by Tony 25 Apr '07

25 Apr '07

Hi! I downloaded and burned the iso file of Musix into disk, made a boot from CDROM, but only came upon the Spanish desktop, and since I know nothing about Spanish, I feel a little bit powerless with the desktop, though I could still tinker with some applications. How can I turn on the English language as the default user language? Thanks in advance. -- Try out the revolutionary web browser: Flock www.flock.com Get frustrated with Windows XP? Why not try Ubuntu- the free operational system for human beings? www.ubuntu.com www.ubuntu.org.cn

At the boot prompt, type english and press enter.
