I just re-installed Musix 0.50. Well, kind of re-installed . . . The hard drive was in a dual-boot PC. I took it out and put it into a dedicated box just for Musix. Finally, I have my very own Digital Audio Workstation! Thank you for your hard work Marcos! -=Sean=- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! What was the best stable release before 0.50? I was using 0.31 before trying to upgrade to 0.50 and I can not get X to work at all now. -=Sean Edwards=- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Re: Musix 0.50 (Problem with X)

Hello, I one had the same problem ! my X crashed and never worked again.. It was after I made an : apt-get dist-upgrade This does not happen only with Musix but with all kind of Debian systems. It happens between some X config files are moving placed between the stable and testing I think. So drivers (Nvidia only??) do not find the appropriate files. The first time it happens I could do nothing because I didn't know this was the problem. After I looked on the net..and found topics describing that. One solution was to make sym links from the new place to the old one. Hmm..don't really remember other details. Hope it helped ! > Message: 7 > Date: Thu, 17 Aug 2006 00:33:16 +0200 > From: Marcos Guglielmetti <marcospcmusica(a)gmail.com> > Subject: Re: [Musix-users] Re: Musix 0.50 > To: Musix GNU+Linux users list <musix-users(a)lists.ourproject.org> > Message-ID: <200608170033.17124.marcospcmusica(a)gmail.com> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-15" > > El Jueves, 17 de Agosto de 2006 02:46, greg h escribió: > > synaptic was the name of the program that i used to upgrade, > > Ah, ok. > > > and the > > options were set to smart upgrade so i only updated the packages that > > were already installed. > > Mmm.
