You can install it now from the Musix’s repositories, just type as root: apt-get update apt-get install ardour2 It will installs into /usr/local/bin/ardour2 so there will be no problems if you are using Debian/Etch or Musix, and you will be able to use Ardour 0.99.3 too. Thanks to Carlos Pino for the deb package. Hey, one last note: you will have to include this into the /etc/apt/sources.list file: # Musix GNU+Linux deb ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/deb/ ./ Read more: http://www.ardour.org/node/895 -- Marcos Guglielmetti * Director del desarrollo de Musix GNU+Linux, 100% Software Libre * Colabora: http://www.musix.org.ar/wiki/index.php/Musix1.0tasks * CD Download: (http://www.musix.org.ar/en/) * Videos, programas, etc.: ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/ * Reporte de errores: https://www.musix.org.ar/wiki/index.php?title=Problemas-Bugs *IRC: #musix channel on freenode * http://autosus.wordpress.com/ «No te tomes en serio nada que no te haga reír» [un amigo de E. I But, do you mean to save mixer's settings or to save the way that alsa load I the modules (drivers) at the startup process? I mean to save alsa load the modules (drivers) at the startup process, cuz my alsa do not respond to me when boot from HD, Some dialog box apears and disapears so fast that i can not raed anything in such a short time. musix gets very bugy, phisical cd rom ejection button do not respond, some other virtual buttons not not respond in desktop, and i am totaly fresh in using terminal, maybe there is some sort of library about terminal functions?

I do not know exactly what the machine type is, but it is an IBM NetVista, Pentium 4 2Ghz with 768mb RAM. My "production" Musix PC's are an eMachine with a 1Ghz Duron and 768mb RAM, and a Compaq AMD Duron with 768mb RAM. Musix runs just fine on those. This is slightly off topic, are there any plans for a Musix for PPC? I have a PowerMAC G3 Blue and White just begging to make some music! -=cybersean3000=- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! The way I test Musix is if it will boot and run on a very touch IBM NetVista PC. With Musix 0.50, I had tried for days to come up with the correct boot parameters for the CD to boot. After finding that and documenting it for myself, I never had a problem booting. With Musix 1.0rc1, I had to do the same thing. After only 2 evenings, I found this to work for me at the boot prompt: boot: xorgmusix english dma lang=eng noapic acpi=off nomce nopcmcia Also, for booting and running from the CD, it is better to have a lot of memory. I have 768MB, but booting from the CD and running SEQ24, Hydrogen, and ZynAddSubFX with 3 instruments causes the PC to crash. When I install Musix on a hard drive, it runs fine. 1) Spend time finding the correct boot options for your PC 2) Make sure you have enough memory. The CD is 700MB. Since some of the CD decompresses into memory to run from a virtual disk in RAM, you shoul have at least 1GB RAM to do anything useful with just booding from the CD. 3) If you don't have a lot of memory in your PC, install Musix on a hard drive and try it from there.
