Musix 0.99 devel, the locales problem was fixed
by Marcos Guglielmetti 06 Feb '07

I just want to give some good news: Kanotix Installer (and other apps) now works into Musix 0.99, because the locales problem was solved. Also, we have a better support for any language. I tried at boot :musixrt english >videovesafb1024x768 (and others)failsafescreen=1280x1024 xvrefresh=60 xhrefresh=80Also tried videoconfig.sh which i tried all options however it seemed ok but Musix New Method seemed to fail. Finally after auto detect and selecting 'medium' level and stepping through the many questions I exited. This through me to a promt > root@tty1[/]#Anything apart from videoconfig.sh typed here would fail. Both kdm and start failed.Any suggestions as I am keen to play with this as it has already recognised my Hoontech C-Port DSP24 and plays the startup music during boot.I have a Philips 170s4 LCD monito capable of auto-detect. But it wont. Thanks,Wayne

Hi Marcos,No offense but are your last two posts meant to mean anything at all? There is no explaination for your commands which would usually result in a action/result.Maybe you could do the following.1. State the problem2. State your fix3. State proposed outcome/resultJust a thought as its pretty pointless to test without a use case.wayne> From: musix-users-request(a)lists.ourproject.org> Subject: Musix-users Digest, Vol 18, Issue 2> To: musix-users(a)lists.ourproject.org> Date: Mon, 5 Feb 2007 12:00:34 +0100> > Send Musix-users mailing list submissions to> musix-users(a)lists.ourproject.org> > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit> https://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/musix-users> or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to> musix-users-request(a)lists.ourproject.org> > You can reach the person managing the list at> musix-users-owner(a)lists.ourproject.org> > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific> than "Re: Contents of Musix-users digest..."> > > Today's Topics:> > 1. locales problems: please, test and report! locales problems: please, test and report! (Musix 0.99 development)
by Marcos Guglielmetti 05 Feb '07

05 Feb '07

Spanglish problems will be still there, but I think this new scripts could solve some of them, also, the Xdialog scripts (knoppix-installer, netcardconfig, etc) should work better- Also, warning messages launching GTK apps from virtual terminals, should dissapear: try launching GTK apps from mrxvt or xterm or konsole after installing those packages: ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/deb/musix-desktop-upgrade_1.4.deb ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/deb/musix-bin-scripts_1.4.deb (dpki -i musix*) then, reboot... So, we need to test how german, french, english, italian, portuguese and spanish works with this new configurations... Use the KDM menú to enter in another language, but, test it in english too. also, you can install them by apt-get update apt-get install musix-desktop-upgrade musix-bin-scripts You can see some info: apt-cache policy musix-desktop-upgrade apt-cache show musix-desktop-upgrade apt-cache policy musix-bin-scripts apt-cache show musix-bin-scripts Well, good luck! -- Marcos Guglielmetti * Director del desarrollo de Musix GNU+Linux, 100% Software Libre * CD Donwload: (http://www.musix.org.ar/en/) * Colabora: http://www.musix.org.ar/wiki/index.php/Musix099_tasks * Videos, programas y otras cosas en: ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/ * Reporte de errores a: https://www.musix.org.ar/wiki/index.php?title=Problemas-Bugs *IRC: #musix channel on freenode * http://autosus.wordpress.com/

Instead it shows something else(i cant remember what exaclty)How can i get around this?Cheers in advanced.
