I dont know how to set upt ardour in french, but you could tell us how to 
generate this file.

I think that maybe you must copy this ardour file to your ~/ directory

==To start in frech from From KDM==
Copy kdem-icewm-fr to /bin/ directory

then:
chmod +x /bin/kdem-icewm-fr

Copy icefr.desktop to /usr/share/xsessions/ directory

==To start X from a text console=

copy startfr to /bin/
and xinitrc-fr to ~/.icewm/

chmod +x /bin/startfr
chmod +x ~/.icewm/xinitrc-fr

Into a text console, you can type

init 2
startfr

If you want to clean up some start-up scripts, 
overwrite /etc/init.d/knoppix-autoconfig and /etc/init.d/xsession
