[Castellano debajo] We remind you that next Tuesday, we have meetings in Medialab-Prado at 17h (Move Commons) and 18:30 (Presentation of Kune). Additional info below. For those who won't be able to be there, I'm sorry folks, but exceptionally, this time we won't set up a virtual meeting (chatting) as in other months. Instead, we'll be reporting through twitter (and identica) so you can join the conversation there. Follow @comunes, @movecommons and @kuneproject and participate from your accounts. We'll announce a hashtag that day. For the Spanish-speakers, the Kune presentation (in Spanish) will be shown in live video-streaming: http://medialab-prado.es/article/streaming Cheers! ************************ [Castellano] Os recordamos que el próximo martes, tenemos reuniones en Medialab-Prado a las 17:00 (Move Commons) y 18:30 (Presentación de Kune). Trying to install Kune. Problems with Openfire.
by Carmen 09 Feb '12

09 Feb '12

Hi everyone! I'm trying to mount my own node of Kune in my computer (a Kubuntu), but it's being really difficult. I've been able to solve most of that problems on my own but with Openfire I think I'm stuck with a dead end. I was following this manual (Apendix A): http://ourproject.org/plugins/scmsvn/viewcvs.php/trunk/INSTALL?root=kune&vi… *- Problem 1:* When it says: Configure the 'Group chat service' (in Group Chat > Group Chat Settings tab) with "rooms" additionally or instead of "conference" (or change kune.chat.roomHost in <trunk>/src/main/resources/kune.properties) I have no idea what are this talking about. I found that in the menus, no problem, but I have no clue what I'm supposed to do there. I don't understand the instructions. *- Problem 2:* After that, I notice that when I follow the next instruction: Change in 'Server > Server Manager > System Properties': provider.auth.className to org.jivesoftware.openfire.auth.JDBCAuthProvider instead of org.jivesoftware.openfire.auth.DefaultAuthProvider provider.user.className to org.jivesoftware.openfire.user.JDBCUserProvider instead of org.jivesoftware.openfire.user.DefaultUserProvider The loggin in that page (the Openfire configuration page) stops working. If I don't log out I still can use the menus, but once I reset the Openfire I'll won't be able to log in again. No idea why. May be the connection with the database doesn't like that change. *- Problem 3: *Also another step: Add these lines to conf/openfire.xml and check that the user/passwd of the db is the same here and in kune.properties (the ones configured before): [HERE GOES A BUNCH OF XML CODE] Instead of: <jdbcAuthProvider/> <jdbcUserProvider/> <admin/> When I edit the document openfire.xml (see attach openfire.xml), I can't find that tags (<jdbcAuthProvider/> <jdbcUserProvider/> <admin/>). I tried copying the code between <setup>true</setup> and </jive> But when I restart the Openfire server all of it have disappeared and now we have that tags that I was supposed to substitute with that code: <jdbcAuthProvider></jdbcAuthProvider> <jdbcUserProvider></jdbcUserProvider> <admin></admin> See openfire_v2.xml I have tried to substitute them again, but with the same result. I tried erasing the <connectionProvider> and <defaultProvider> but it just started the setup from the beginning when I went to the Openfire admin page. Well, I think that's all (for now). If anyone have any idea or suggestion about all of this, I'll be very grateful.

Next face-to-face meetings / Próximas reuniones presenciales
by Samer 24 Jan '12

24 Jan '12

[Abajo en castellano] **************** We announce them now so you can write the dates in your agendas: - The next Comunes/Move Commons/Kune face to face meetings will be held in the Medialab-Prado, Madrid http://medialab-prado.es/article/donde_y_cuando - Specifically, the second Tuesday of each month, in the afternoons. That is, the following February 14, March 13, April 10. - The next one, February 14th, will be divided in two: at 5pm we'll have a Move Commons meeting, and at 6.30pm a presentation and meeting about Kune, until 8pm. Afterwards we'll probably go for a drink :) It would be fantastic if you could all make it, or at least to the F14 one.

#173: Autocomplete on the usernames was too slow --------------------------+------------------ Reporter: vjrj | Owner: vjrj Type: defect | Status: new Priority: major | Milestone: Component: Group space | Version: Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: --------------------------+------------------ Comment by Ogoldberg: looks like the autocomplete on the usernames was too slow for me. I realized that if I wait awhile, a suggestion shows up. If I select the suggestion, than it seems to work. I feel, however, that if I enter the username correctly, it shouldn't matter if I select the suggestion or not -- Ticket URL: <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/ticket/173> kune issues <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/>
