LIVIANA International Conference / On Line / Open and free access
by Ana Inés Heras 24 Oct '25

24 Oct '25

DEAR FRIENDS on Wedn Nov 5th, my colleague Christian Anderson and I will be coordinating this session, within the LIVIANA Conference, organized by the Community Economies Institute and the Community Economies Research Network. It would be very nice if you could make it! I think the issues we will work on relate nicely with the work we do within this group. Best, Ana ---------------------------------------------------- SESSION 3.2 - ORGANISERS: CHRISTIAN ANDERSON AND ANA INÉS HERAS ACROSS HEMISPHERES: ARTS-BASED, RELATIONSHIP-BASED AND PROCESS-BASED KNOWLEDGE GENERATION 5th November (Wednesday)* - 2 hours CLICK HERE [1] to register AbstractThis session will take the form of a workshop, convening a space/time for conversation and sharing across people, geographies, and projects utilizing an arts-based and/or process-oriented approach to relationship building and knowledge generation. By arts/process-based approaches, we mean approaches that may not identify outcomes in advance, but that hold processes of relationship building and creative and collective open-ended engagement as central. Our title refers to both geographical hemispheres as well as to brain hemispheres, or any other hemispheres one would like to imagine... The metaphor counts for bridging different zones and finding what comes in between. We will divide the session time into two segments. During the first we will do activities, inviting participants to do these activities live, online. On the second slot, we will reflect on what transpired while we were doing the activities and we will also open a discussion based on these questions (some or all of these, as we see fit): How do you define your work (scholarly and/or creative)? Does your work involve establishing long-term relationships? (with whom, how, for what purpose, with/towards what outcomes?). How, if at all, do you deal with change and flux in those relationships? How do you negotiate dynamics of power differentials, if they exist (between participants, between people with different levels of security)? What different roles do different participants play? How do you arrive at your agenda/goals? In the above, according to what principles, using what kinds of protocols? In other words, how does collective decision making happen? Are you an equal partner in those decision-making processes? Why/why not? With what resources do you support and nurture this work? *Seattle 11:00- New York 14:00- Buenos Aires 16:00- Amsterdam 20:00- Nairobi 22:00- Bangkok 02:00 (6th November)- Warrane-Sydney 06:00 (6th November)- Aotearoa-NZ 08:00 (6th November) -- Ana Inés Heras ana.heras(a)communityeconomies.org Universidad de San Martín, CONICET, Argentina https://proyectodeautonomia.wordpress.com/herramientas-utiles-en-proyectos-… [2] Tweet @herasmonnersans Instagram @herasmonnersans Links: ------ [1] https://sites.google.com/view/liviana2025/program-registration/session-3-2?… [2] https://proyectodeautonomia.wordpress.com/herramientas-utiles-en-proyectos-…

Through the second Next System Convergence <https://click.actionnetwork.org/ss/c/u001.nTQp_FEIcSHl649vCJCicmDiWWmGRlwux…> , <https://click.actionnetwork.org/ss/c/u001.nTQp_FEIcSHl649vCJCicmDiWWmGRlwux…> faculty, students, and staff from more than 50 universities and colleges, as well as three dozen think tanks, unions, and civil society organizations, prepared for the Next System Teach-Ins this November. <https://nextsystem.org/about/> This gathering had double the participation of the one we held in April! As part of the Convergence, we were very happy to announce the release of a new <https://click.actionnetwork.org/ss/c/u001.nTQp_FEIcSHl649vCJCicsV1jgPe3VF4I…>*Next System Teach-In Organizing Guide <https://click.actionnetwork.org/ss/c/u001.nTQp_FEIcSHl649vCJCicsV1jgPe3VF4I…> *as well as the beginning of twice-weekly "office hours" held in English, Portuguese, and Spanish <https://click.actionnetwork.org/ss/c/u001.nTQp_FEIcSHl649vCJCicsV1jgPe3VF4I…> . UPDATE: Rescheduled meetings - 20TH and 27TH MARCH 1PM GMT
by Marco Andrade V. 07 Mar '25

07 Mar '25

Dear friends, Due to an unexpected mandatory trip that was recently announced, I will have to travel next week and will not have an internet connection. For that reason, we have been forced to rescheduled the meeting with Itzel and Alcar (Crianza Mutua Mexico) for *Thursday, March 20 at 1PM GMT. * On the other hand, Melanie Bush asked us to please try to change the date of the webinar because the meeting of the Thematic Group on Solidarity Economies is scheduled for Friday, March 28. So I have spoken with Itzel and they could do it on *Thursday, March 27 at 1PM GMT. * Please update your agendas with these new dates. 🙏🏼✨ We will soon send you the Zoom links and more details of the webinar so that you can share it with those who may be interested. A big hug. We will keep in touch.

Thursday 13th meeting / Friday 28th webinar - 1PM GMT
by Marco Andrade V. 03 Mar '25

03 Mar '25

Hello, everyone. How are you? How good to get in touch again. We wanted to tell you that we did very well last week in the conversation we had with Wangui. It was a space for very deep dialogue and a lot of connection. Several of you could have been present, but here we leave the link to the recording to those who could not connect: https://globaltapestryofalternatives.org/events:2025_lg_other_ways:01 On the other hand, we wanted to tell you that we already have dates for the next two meetings that we will have in March. The first will only be from the learning theme group next Thursday, March 13. At the beginning of the meeting we will take the opportunity to share some updates and the second part we will start sharing with Itzel (Crianza Mutua México) about "intergenerational wisdom in challenging times" and discerning together some questions that we consider important around this issue. We also have defined the date for the next public webinar (with Itzel) and it will be Friday 28th at 1PM GMT. Please separate both the thematic group meeting (Thursday 13) and the webinar (Friday 28) both to 1PM GMT. We send you a strong hug. Anchor Team Learning Thematic Group

Hello everyone, I'm sending you a short summary update from our learning thematic group meeting today (January 9). We started by welcoming people who joined the meeting/process (Wangui, Itzel, Halwest). Welcome, we are very happy that you can contribute with your questions and also with your wisdom. Although Madhulika could not be present this time, Ishaan and Ashish gave news regarding the in-person meeting in India, and told us that there is already a defined date (July 12-15, 2025) and that they will soon share more details with us. On the other hand, we continue to concretize the first conversation sessions around "Other Ways of Knowing", and we talked with Wangui, Itzel and Servin about the first topics - months (February-May 2025). - See google doc link below - Within the collective proposals, Ashish mentioned an initiative that PeDAGoG previously held regarding a Repository of "Learning Processes and Resources" that we are going to add to the shared document. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FU4ATvuf87SLyWQGfht33lLfbk7D1_ucBbSu4mp… Finally, we agreed to meet again in three weeks, on *Thursday, January 30, at 1PM GMT *to continue sharing and reflecting together on this collaborative process. Please save the date in your schedules. See you in a few weeks! A strong hug. M.A. Note: For Halwest, Wangui, Itzel, Rachel and Ishaan, here is the PeDAGoG working framework we mentioned in the meeting: https://globaltapestryofalternatives.org/_media/pedagog:working_framework_o… Thanks! At some point, can the anchor team of this pl send a mail to the PeDAGoG list, with a short description of what is brewing, so interested folks from there can join? Alternatively, and I think preferable since it already exists and has a history, this group merges into that one, so we don't have two parallel lists/ groupings? thanks ashish Ashish Kothari Ashish Kothari Kalpavriksh Apt 5 Shree Datta Krupa 908 Deccan Gymkhana Pune 411004, India Tel: 91-20-25654239 https://ashishkothari.in On 16/12/24 12:25 am, Franco Augusto wrote: > Dear all, > here is a mailing list for this thematic group: > https://lists.ourproject.org/mailman/listinfo/gta-learning > > To send an email to it, use:[email protected] > > All e-mails copied in this e-mail are subscribed already.
