Entre Schaerbeek et Evere (Bruxelles), l’ancien site de la Gare Josaphat
est une des dernières réserves foncières appartenant à la région de
Bruxelles-Capitale. Elle s’étend sur 24 hectares, soit une superficie de
plus de 32 terrains de football. Le gouvernement régional vient
d’approuver un schéma de développement en première lecture qui trace le
devenir de cette friche.

Commons Josaphat est une plateforme d'acteurs autonomes et libres de
toute appartenance politique. Cette plateforme réunit des habitants,
riverains ou citoyens militants et des associations autour de l'idée
qu'il est possible de produire et de gérer notre ville en se fondant sur
le concept des biens communs.

La plateforme lance un Appel à idées citoyen ouvert à tous. Il vise à
mobiliser l’intelligence collective pour penser la ville comme un bien
commun, dans toute sa complexité et parvenir ainsi à une série de
scénarios concrets alimentant la réflexion des Bruxellois sur la ville
qu’ils souhaitent. Imaginer une autre façon de faire et de vivre la
ville en bien commun mérite d’ouvrir la réflexion à toutes les
dimensions de la vie urbaine.

L'Appel à Idées entend proposer à la ville, à ses habitants et aux
pouvoirs publics des chemins concrets pour construire les biens communs,
pour donner un pouvoir décisionnel à toutes les personnes qui ont un
enjeu dans ce futur quartier : les citoyens du quartier, ceux qui y
vivront, ceux qui s'y baladeront, ceux qui y travailleront, ceux qui
regarderont sa construction du balcon de leur fenêtre, à tous les
bruxellois, à tous les militants de la ville et au-delà, en Belgique et
dans le monde entier, en bref au plus grand nombre. Participez, partagez
l’appel, passez le message!

De site van het vroegere Josaphatstation op de grens van Schaarbeek en
Evere (Brussel) is een van de laatste grondreserves van het Brussels
Hoofdstedelijk Gewest. Het strekt zich uit over 24 hectare, goed voor
een oppervlakte van meer dan 32 voetbalvelden. De gewestregering heeft
zopas na een eerste lezing een ontwikkelingsschema goedgekeurd dat de
toekomst van dit braakland uittekent.
Commons Josaphat is een onafhankelijk platform dat bewoners, militanten
en verenigingen verenigt rond het idee dat het mogelijk is om onze stad
te maken en beheren uitgaande van het concept van de commons.
Het platform lanceert dus een burgerideeënoproep, open voor iedereen.
Daarmee wil het de collectieve intelligentie mobiliseren om de stad in
al haar complexiteit te beschouwen als een commons en om zo te komen tot
een reeks concrete scenario’s die kunnen dienen als voedingsbodem voor
de reflectie van de Brusselaars over de stad die ze wensen. Dit
veronderstelt een reflectie en voorstellen over alle aspecten van het
leven in de stad.
De bedoeling van de Ideeënoproep is de stad, de bewoners en de overheid
concrete pistes voor te stellen voor het maken van commons, om zo alle
mensen die een rol spelen in deze toekomstige wijk beslissingskracht te
geven: de burgers van de wijk, zij die er zullen wonen, zij die er
zullen wandelen, zij die er zullen werken, zij die de bouwwerken zullen
gadeslaan vanaf het balkon voor hun raam, alle Brusselaars, alle
militanten van de stad en daarbuiten, uit België en uit de hele wereld,
kortom, zo veel mogelijk mensen.

In Schaerbeek (Brussels), the site of the Josaphat train station is one
of the last land reserves owned by the authorities of the
Brussels-Capital Region. The regional government recently approved a
guiding scheme, defining the ambition for this strategic site spanning
24 hectares, a surface of over 32 soccer fields.

Commons Josaphat is an autonomous platform  gathering inhabitants,
citizens, activists and organizations around the idea that it is
possible to produce and manage our city based on the concept of the
commons. Commons Josaphat wishes for a transition for the Josaphat site
to a commons. As the last large land reserve in public ownership, this
site has to become an example, to take distance from the model of a city
dependent on financial flows and real estate development.

The platform therefore launches a call for ideas, open to anybody, with
the aim to mobilize our collective intelligence and imagine the city, in
all of its complexity, as a commons. A series of concrete scenarios will
emerge; addressed to the citizens and authorities of Brussels in order
to think about the city they wish for.

The call for ideas wants to offer the city, its inhabitants and
officials some concrete paths towards the constitution of commons and
towards the distribution of decision-making among the parties and people
concerned by this future quarter: inhabitants of the neighborhood,
future inhabitants of the site, but also the people who will walk or
work there, or the ones who will behold its construction from their
balconies.
