No, it's ok, but if you want to, do it, so then you can restore the file from 
the live-cd

By the way, I can remember that the problem happens with all kind of kernels, 
no? did you tried to install some kernel image from Debian repositories?

Also, could you install udev?

Serial ATA, another kind of hard disks, but I dont know technically about them

Well, lets try another things.

When you have problems with rosegarden, or kate, or kedit, yes, better kedit, 
because it's less complex, just do an strace, as intance:

strace -o /tmp/strace-kedit_to_mail_.txt kedit

Or, with firefox:

strace -o /tmp/strace-firefox_to_mail_.txt firefox

Then, when the app locks (se traba, carajo, no sé cómo se dice!), we will know 
what is it trying to do :D
