<p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">We ordered three different appetizers to start: Ho Cakes (love that name), Fried Okra, and Turkey Neck Lettuce Wraps. We wanted to try the boudin appetizer, but two of the three meats were out. The Ho Cakes were good and had a slight spiciness to them. I didn't think too much of the fried okra, but I am not a big okra fan anyway. The okra had a fish-fry cornbread batter, but not much spice/taste to it. My friend had the same breading on a fried green tomato that I tried, and I though it was ok as well.
The best appetizer was the turkey neck lettuce wraps, and was recommended by the waiter. They were brought to our table with some sauce and were very tasty. Recommended.
Albert had a hamburger with bacon and fries. He said it was ok. Vik ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the jerk chicken and we shared our meals. Vik also ordered some gumbo that had a very tasty roux. I will have to order some of that next time.
The grits were very tasty with a creamy sauce. Delicious sausage was also included in the entree. Excellent taste blend.
I did enjoy the jerk chicken. I was served 3 large pieces in the lunch entree, about 3/4 of a chicken. I ate one piece, gave one to Vik, and took the other home. The spices on the chicken were just right...not hot enough to make you cry, but just enough spiciness to make your lips warm. I ate my take-home piece cold for lunch the next day, and it was still very tasty.fa136e57392093479095a5a40f033715
