hollandaise was not very impressive either. It was sparingly poured onto the eggs and had too much clarified butter. It was really missing the hint of lemon that is in a really good hollandaise sauce. The English muffins were huge and toasted with a proper crunch. I always relish eating the entire an entire dish of eggs benedict, but I ended up not finishing this dish because it was poorly executed. The one redeeming part of brunch was the blueberry whipped pancakes....just WOW. We ordered a plate to share for 3 people since ordering one pancake is $5 compared to the entree portion which is a stack of 3 for $9. The pancakes had the right proportion of blueberry and butter. It was topped with a blueberry butter and had whole blueberries in the batter, which made it pleasantly sweet. I ate them without the maple syrup that was provided and they were divine. Definitely don't hesitate to order this dish! Overall, Founding Farmers was a real let down after hearing so many good recommendations. I would recommend coming for the drinks and ambiance at the bar, but it was a mediocre brunch. However, the prices are extremely affordable so I understand why it's such a hot spot. Skip the eggs benedict and go for the pancakes. If you want a real eggs benedict, go to Napoleon Bistro in Adams Morgan for a much better dish. I've been wanting to try this place since it was talked up so highly last time. They have an amazing line up for brunch/lunch/dinner. Seriously.
