San Francisco confession: I am SO over expensive, tiny food. If the plate must be prepared with tweezers or a dish on the menu has the description "essence of...", run the other way. Don't even get me started on pricey prix fixe menus.

Lucky for us city folk, Liholiho is anything but stuffy or overthought. It's kinda perfect.

Getting a rez online was easy, despite Bauer's recent praise. There seemed to be a lot of walk-ins at the bar so don't feel bad about making it a last minute decision either.

Drinks before the meal were ok. Surfer Rosa seems to be one of the more popular cocktails. Love mezcal but the drink itself just wasn't my speed. But if the least favorite part of the night was fast service and poor choice when it comes to booze, no harm done. 

As for da grinds, portions were generous. No teeny tiny bites. Mind you, this isn't Hawaiian lunch plate either. No mac salad or loco mocco in styrofoam. It's a classy joint.fa136e57392093479095a5a40f033715
