why don't you try to translate musix to french? it would be great!
Porque no traducir musix en frances? it would be great! :) hello!
that's exactly what we want to do!
Eso es exactamente lo que queremos hacer!
jejeje Nos vamos a volver locos si cada mail lo escribimos en 2 lenguas, pero todo bien, yo lo hice a modo de presentación. :)
If you got some times, anybody, could you tell us where we can find files to translate, or if there is a "protocol" for the translation, please tell us, we would be very happy in helping this way!
Si tiene tiempo alguien, puede decirnos a donde podemos buscar "file" que traducir, o si hay un "protocol" de traduction. seremos muy contentos ayudar musix de esta manera!
(writing spanish without a dictionnary :| )
Bastante bien tu español sin diccionario, se entiende perfecto. Puedes usar kwordtrans como traductor de palabras si quieres... (inglés - español) Ok: there are 3, 4 or more different parts... as instance: 1. The scripts made only for Musix (/bin/*.sh) 2. The really "great and fantastic" apps (/usr/bin) 3. The man pages (man something) 4. The Musix's docs (User Manual, WIKI, etc.) 5. The boot scripts, the boot screen (scripts can be taken from knoppix fr and pt) I think that a translation must be done in a tidy (ordenado) way. We have a system for each part of the problem. ==KDE== KDE apps (rosegarden, kate, konqueror, noteedit, etc.) are really easy to translate, because they are already translated!! (at least kate, konqueror, etc.): it's a matter of installing some packages into Musix (i am trying to do it now) $ apt-cache search i18n | grep kde | grep fr kde-i18n-fr - French (fr) internationalized (i18n) files for KDE It uses 16,6MB of compressed files (31,8MB uncompressed).... it is "too much" space, but maybe we should put those files into the Live CD (despite the user can always install them after hd installation) The same way could be used to support any languaje with KDE, as instance, portuguese: kde-i18n-pt - Portuguese (pt) internationalized (i18n) filesfor KDE It uses 6.7 mb of compressed files, and 21mb uncompressed. ---- So, we must free at least 52 mb of files into the Musix Live-CD to support french and portuguese KDE apps. We need help!! Because: What packages could we remove from Musix? attachment: "This is an ordered list of installed packages under Musix 0.30 development version." ==man pages== Manpages are manual pages that you can read from a terminal or text console, as instance: "man mkdir" gives you manual pages for mkdir command. manpages-fr - French version of the manual pages manpages-pt - Portuguese Versions of the Manual Pages apt-get install manpages-pt manpages-fr 2233kB (compressed) 4694kB (uncompressed) That's really fine! less space than the KDE subject ==removing== I am removing some unnecessary packages: apt-get remove koffice-i18n-es Se liberarán 2507kB después de desempaquetar. Also, I must clean up some things under /master/img directory (4.1 mb compressed) ...done. But we need to remove more packages... help. ;) ---------------------- o ---------------------- ==The scripts made only for Musix (/bin/*.sh)== I think that you can start with one script, such as pcinfo.sh, and see if it works fine with the translation... but, do not translate more scripts for now, because they could change in the next release. In a few days or weeks we could start solving some problems with the old scripts, and making new scripts... so, do not translate more than one "test script". Ok, there is a system to do this task. Adran Pardini did something great in this direction: Under: /etc/musix/internacionalizar/scripts-musix/ Some explanations: /etc/musix/internacionalizar/scripts-musix/LEE.ME Tutorial: /root/Mis_Documentos_GNU-Linux/Teoria/tutorial-gettext/tutorial-gettext-en-scripts.txt NOTE: I think that, before start translating some scripts, you should set up your locale environment locale -a Show you all the locale types... maybe: export LANG=fr_FR export LC_ALL=fr_FR For portuguese: pt_PT Then you can start doing some translation (following the Adrian Pardini's tutorial and/or scripts: Copy some script to /etc/musix/internacionalizar/scripts-musix/ Then into a console (konsole, terminal, etc.), type: cd /etc/musix/internacionalizar/scripts-musix/ ./hacer_pot the_name_of_the_script.sh Now, translate the .pot file with some text editor (kate, nano, etc.) Ok, now, follow these steps ./hacer_po the_name_of_the_script.sh ./hacer_mo the_name_of_the_script.sh ./instalar_mo the_name_of_the_script.sh Then you must type . /etc/musix/funciones-i18n Note that there is a space between . and / ./mi_script Then, type setear_locale fr (or pt) Run the script (just to try if it works in french of portuguese) ./mi_script _________________ ============================== o =========================== Ok, ufff, are you tired? ;-) ==The Musix's docs (User Manual, WIKI, etc.)== Some french and portuguese links are now into the Musix's WIKI, and can be translated from english or spanish Well, tell us -- Marcos Guglielmetti *Desempleado, busco empleo estable.* http://www.pc-musica.com.ar/Curriculum-Marcos-Guglielmetti.html fecha: lun sep 26 15:55:02 CEST 2005
