Jeff: Folks on the emc-lists tend to tell folks asking about compiling emc or emc2 on bdi to redirect their questions to this bdi-list. Sometimes this Frick and Frack action is amusing, sometimes it's annoying, but it always gets in the way of progress. Following in this vein, how about cross-posting your instructions on Paul's Wiki, since that's where the linuxcnc site directs bdi users? Just my $0.02 worth. Regards, Kent

I wrote and tested these instructions this past weekend: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl/emcinfo.pl?BDI-4_38_Compile_EMC2
The best place to ask for help compiling emc2 may be the emc-users list. http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users

Agreed, it is tiresome... As is the (often) misleading information posted to forums such as the cnc-zone, CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO lists. Rather than duplicating the entire BDI-4_38_Compile_EMC2 page, it has been cross linked from the bdi4emc wiki. Regards, Paul.
