Hi All, I downloaded BDI-4.38 today and MD5 checksum was right, Burned to disk. When I got home I went through the install( painfully slow-1-1/2hr). Then program did post install configuration and asked to reboot machine, I took cd out and pressed reset button. Program won't start, all that happens is "Grub>" scrolls by one after the other after the other. Any clues why this happened or how to fix it. I installed BDI-4.38 with all the default settings accept for my monitor. I chose Compaq SVGA. Thanks in advance, bpmw...

Sounds like grub didn't get installed correctly - About the only time I've had problems was with SCSI drives.. The install should not have taken over an hour unless you have very little memory. Could you supply some details about the hardware you are attempting to use. Also, did you run mediacheck on the CD ? (F2 at the boot prompt tells you how to run it). Regards, Paul.
Hi Paul, Thanks for the reply, I haven't tried media check I'll do that tonight. I guess its possible the burn didn't work out right. I assumed it was fine as laptop is only 2 months old. As for computer hardware for Mill. Its a 800Mhz Duron, 128Mb ram, 4 Gig HD, Ati Radion 9200 8Mb Graphics card, ps2 mouse, ps2 keyboard, Sound blaster live 5.0, not sure of motherboard (I'm at work at the moment), and an D-link ISA nic. I'll try burning ISO at home on my workstation.(better burner than laptop at work). Will get back to you as to turnout. Best Regards, Vern...

Sounds like a reasonable setup, some more memory would certainly speed up the install - The sound card should also work, but it is not an essential part of a system. The network card may well work straight away, but being ISA, you might have to fiddle with jumpers and/or module parameters. Regards, Paul.
