You say we could use the cd to update an existing install. I am a longtime linux guy, but not with debian. Any hints on how we can start the upgrade?
To quote from Craig's posting: 1. Burn the .iso image with BDI 4.50. 2. Launch Synaptic. 3. Synaptic prompts for a root password.. 4. Use the "Edit" pull down menu and "Add CD-ROM". 5. Click on the 'Status' box in the lower left corner, and select "Installed (upgradable) from the menu. By right clicking on any package in the main window, you can select to upgrade (or remove).. Alternatively, 'Mark All Upgrades' icon on the tool bar and then the 'Apply' icon. Regards, Paul. For the command line junkies: sudo apt-cdrom add sudo apt-get upgrade
