[P2P-F] Leaving Facebook for a indeterminate time

Dear George,

I don't see how to the moment, since they object to open debate and
critical inquiry; and very few people seem to support this with enough
force. So it means retreating to what this group finds unobjectionable, and
accepting self-censorship, which I don't feel I can do.

To be honest, FB was taking too much of my time, and the only reason I
stayed was the quality of my audience But then FB forbade to do any
crossposting and responding to requests in other groups, then reduced my
audience by two-thirds. When on top of that I discover that a strong and
vocal minority opposes open inquiry and normalizes racism, it really stops
me in my tracks. And you have only seen half of it, because on top of it,
the private mails exhorting me to 'choose sides or else', having coming in
as well (as well as supportive emails such as yours), but the public
support on the site itself has been underwhelming. Right now, I am wounded
emotionally, meaning that everytime I go back, it just re-opens it, so for
sure, I need to get away at least for some time. But in all likelyhood, I
will look for another medium, with more filtering capacity.
