Hosted by the Westminster Institute for Advanced Studies

This double-event features the launch of Cherian George's (Hong Kong 
Baptist University) book "Hate Spin: The Manufacture of Religious 
Offense and its Threat to Democracy" (MIT Press) that shows how 
right-wing movements in India, the USA and Indonesia incite hatred and 
nationalism.

It also features a screening of short-films by the experimental 
film-maker Harun Farocki, followed by a discussion featuring Claudio 
Celis Bueno (Westminster Institute for Advanced Studies) and Michael 
Cowan (University of St Andrews) of how these films relate to the 
contemporary changes of labour and the economy in society.
