*Dear Friend in Faith,*

You, or a representative you can encourage, are invited to consider
continuing with us in the quest for a pertinent translation of a
contemporary understanding of a renewal of economic behaviour today at
intimate, corporate and global levels of our essential inter-dependence.

*HONOURING A THEOLOGY OF LAND IN ITS CONTEMPORARY APPLICATION*

*The first conference on Honouring a Theology of Land* in the series of
three wrestled with this definition of an understanding of the biblical
Covenant, when first formulated, as recorded in the books of Genesis and
Exodus.

A THEOLOGY OF LAND

founded in

*A COVENANT between GOD and HUMANITY,*

*where evolving global consciousness ensures*

*that the ever emergent gift of life on earth*

*is continuously replenished*

*by our trusteeship and husbandry *

*of the finite resources of the land.*

It is a land deal. It is a way of communicating the fact that God’s
creation in nature requires the free and voluntary contribution of
humanity, with its unique shared consciousness, to the maintenance and
replenishment of the resources of the land, of the earth entire, within its
unique bio-sphere.

*The second conference wrestled with the concept of chaplaincy*, as an
extension of audit, and as a way to consider the role of the church in
society. This placed the emphasis on a universal message from all the faith
traditions, made available in given situations by close attention to the
local realities while related to the wider context of global house keeping.
This would require deeper awareness of actual issues and situations
confronting people and stand instead of general rhetoric such as we had
found in the number of grand statements from faith sources produced in 2012
and 2013.

*The third conference is on Saturday June 1st 10.00 am-- 2.00 pm at St
James, 197 Piccadilly.*

Resolving the land dispute over the control of the Holy Land remains the
overriding moral and political challenge which has so far defeated the
international community of nations. Secular political and philosophical
discourses have proved unfit for purpose. How the Theology of the Land can
resolve the impasse is the subject of the discussion at this third
conference. Speakers will examine the proposition that the Covenant which
laid the foundations for the Abrahamic faiths, and its further elaboration
by Jesus in his discourse on public finance, provides the tools for a
settlement that would foster a multi-ethnic community embracing Israel and
her neighbouring lands.

How will leaders of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths now take
their founding precepts and work with secular authorities to create a model
for conflict resolution that could then also be applied to the other crises
of the 21st century? How will the influential American evangelical movement
respond to the news that Jesus challenged conventional thinking on taxation
(with its implications for modern governance and the financial sector)? How
might the economics of the Covenant undermine the spiritual credibility of
the advocates of radical Islam?

These questions are intended to identify ways of re-opening the door to
ecumenical action. You are invited to participate in their elaboration so
that, as a result of our exploration of the Theology of the Land, new moral
and philosophical vistas may attract secular leaders to visualise how peace
and prosperity is a practical prospect for everyone.

Please also pass this invitation to others you feel would be interested to
help in this difficult act of inter-faith translation and agreement, which
might then influence our political and economic leaders.
