Would this company be relevant to ripple:

Just a convenient way to settle debts in USD.

Sent from my HTC Incredible 2.

It's more than a convenient way to settle debt; it's a totally new network
essentially linking bank accounts. One of its major investors is Veridian,
which, I believe is a mlm. But don't take my word for it.

Dwolla may find interest in Ripple.

This isn't the first time dwolla has appeared on this mailing list. I
thought it had occurred before that, too...mabye it was somewhere else

Seems a little spammy.

Dwolla is interesting, and worth keeping an eye on. They played a
major role in the Bitcoin community for a couple of months in the
summer of 2011, during which Dwolla was the preferred way to deposit
or withdraw money to the various exchanges (tradehill, mtgox,
exchangebitcoins, etc). The promise of Dwolla was that it would be
instantaneous and irreversible (both qualities would be a big
improvement over ACH).

But it turned out those claims weren't true, and in fact Dwolla is
just a 'wrapper over ACH'. This caused a little crisis in July 2011
when Dwolla reversed a bunch of transactions without letting the
exchanges know. There was some good coverage of the event, especially
Bruce Wagner's investigative journalism:
http://onlyonetv.com/2011/07/the-bitcoin-show-episode-31/
Article about the immediate aftermath:
http://www.siliconprairienews.com/2011/07/as-bitcoin-exchanges-drop-dwolla-milne-says-company-stays-focused

It's unclear to me whether Dwolla ever was an ally to Bitcoin or
whether they may be in the future. A rumor is that the 'big changes'
Dwolla has in store for next month will involve decentralization or
investment in Bitcoin. I'm doubtful.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=51478.0

Anything that would make Dwolla useful for Bitcoin would also make
Dwolla useful for Ripple. The easier it seems like it will be to
settle an IOU in the future, the more appealing it is to accept an IOU
as payment now.
