[P2P-F] migrating from ning to open source 'federating' platform? (like BuddyPress)

Hi Elf,

I made this proposal last time when we were discussing migrating away from
ning,

since our blog is central, it would make a lot of sense,

but it didn't get any traction,

anyone changed his mind on this?
