At last we are up and running. Only a new university approach can begin to
do justice to the enormity of the crisis that is now knocking the foundation
of civilisation everywhere; one that focuses on the real cause of the
crisis, that everywhere power is out of control because it is deployed in
aggregates far too large to be controlled by anyone.
We now have the means of establishing a radical global website university,
a brotherhood and sisterhood of scholarship of a wide range of disciplines
all uniquely focussed on the problems of the practical application of the
human scale – whether in terms of health, education, economics, banking,
information, art, money, architecture, planning, transport, penal reform,
religious belief or whatever.
Think what this means! The radical movement is currently powerless to halt
the onrush of the current moves to boardroom fascism, social collapse and
war because it lacks the theoretical equipment with which to engage.
Ultimately it is ideas which dominate history, we now have the means to
equip ourselves to take our place.
This is where you come in with your special concern. Is it money systems?
Secessionism? Tribalism? Communalism? Agriculture? Energy? Food? Now is your
opportunity to establish your own self-governing university college which
will be in contact with scholars around the world, producing papers and
proposals we can promote on our website as a matter of course.
And think too of the political implications, especially in countries still
in the grip of political medievalism! We shall be helping to defend our
radical friends everywhere by countering censorship and police persecution
by means not previously available to us.
An interim University Council has been established, one which will operate
in website terms and increase its representative governing character in
accordance with the response. Please indicate if you wish to become an
active member, whether you can be listed as a lecturer, a librarian, a
convenor, college principal, a Patron or in any other capacity; in which
case please give full details of your qualifications, published works,
general interests and any other details that will assist.
We are seeking here to serve a truly historic need; there is no reason at
all why an independent global radical consciousness should not, using
modern technology, establish itself as a significant and important factor in
the rapidly developing maelstrom of modern political and economic events.
Our lack is nothing but our leave.
In due course we shall announce a formal launching and issue a press
statement on our objectives. Meanwhile…
Over to you.
JOHN PAPWORTH B.Sc.(Econ.).
ACTING CHANCELLOR.
