Dear commoners,
This week we published a feature story by two leaders in the American
regional theater movement who have formed the American Voices New Play
Institute. The Institute is re-conceiving theater as a commons rather than
thinking of theater in market terms. This is a turn away from the recent
past and revives values from the founding of the movement in the 60s with a
focus on decentralizing cultural expression and strengthening civic dialog
through art, among other goals. More on what's brewing here:

Invite you to read, comment, and also share with your colleagues in theater
and the arts,
Thank you,
Neal
