Hey Mathieu, et al ;)

No worries on the nature of sending - and in general I'm very happy to help out, as I'm sure are many others on this list too when needed. It's not an easy job to run a journal entirely on volunteer time, and the amount of work you all continue to put into it is immense, so I think the weight is much better carried by many shoulders rather than just a few.

Please do go ahead and send me details about the email list - I've run a few community listserves in my time so I should be fine with it, but I may have to come back to this list and ask for more humans to help if not!

- Kat

The message below was meant for Kat only. There's nothing sinister about it but I really did not mean to put her on the spot publicly like that. I've already written to her off-list to apologise and to assure her that she should not feel any pressure.

Sorry!

Mathieu

Hi Kat

Thanks for doing such a great job publicising the new release on Twitter. :-)

I’m going to post to jopp-public soon based on my reflections on the management of the journal as compared to the others we featured in #13. Apart from anything else jopp is vulnerable because two people are essential – Peter for the CMS and me for the email list. I’m going to propose that we need a backup person for both and I was wondering if you’d be OK with being the backup email list person? That would probably mean joining the core team also. No practical obligations per se but it would make us safer in case anything happens to me. I’m going to approach Steve Collins for the CMS as he seems to know his way around Wordpress. Anyway, let me know if that could be OK.

cheers
Mathieu
