This has been discussed in academic terms in a more popularised manner
roughly since 2003-4 I believe and it has intensified greatly throughout
2011-12. Obviously this is not my area of expertise education and academic
publishing, but looking into media movements and sociopolitical change is.
So if anyone out there is interested to form an special editorial group and
go for it, I think it d be a great contribution to a discussion currently
taking place and JoPP would benefit form getting involved in it.
I would like this to be done rather slow in the next couple of years and
take in some of the first reactions, problems and ideological conflicts in
the UK and elsewhere. The goal would be to publish in the first part of
2016. I also think that JoPP could initiate a conference on this to get
best contributors in the area.
