*01/06/2021 International Conference on Climate Justice - Inauguration of
the new Jean Monnet Center of Excellence on Climate Justice at the
University of Padua (online)*

We invite you to participate at the opening conference of the new Jean
Monnet Centre of Excellence on Climate Justice at University of Padua,
Tuesday 1 June 2021 in two sessions, the first from 11.30-13.30 the second
from 15.30 to 18.30.

In addition to the official inauguration of the Centre (the University of
Padua hosts one of the few centres in the world on these issues and the
only one in Italy), it will be the opportunity to reflect on climate
justice.

In the morning session José-Lorenzo Valles, Head of Unit dell’EACEA will
present the initiative Jean Monnet in the period 2021-2027; Vandana Shiva
will address the issue of climate justice and territories focusing on
agricultural practices released from fossil fuels (land not oil).

The afternoon session deals with the dialogue building between research and
civil society addressing the challenges of climate justice with the
presence of researchers and civil society organizations from Italy, Europe,
Africa and Latin America.
