BDI-4.48 is now available for download at http://www.cncgear.com/EMC/BDI/ or
ftp://bdi4emc.ourproject.org/pub/bdi4emc/ The md5sum can be verified at
http://ourproject.org/moin/Where_to_get_it or from the bdi-4.48.md5 file.
 This release is intended to be the last for six months or so until emc2
stabilises (also gives me a chance to work on a couple of text mode install
bugs). The latest CD includes:

 * 2.6.16.18 kernel pre-patched with RTAI-3.3
 * wireless tools and a few modules (madwifi & ndiswrappers) for those that
need them (optional package selection)
 * EMC with the addition of Matt Timmermans' quickstep driver.
 * Jeff Epler's python based Axis GUI (ver: 1.2.1-3)
 * bwidget and all the tools needed to compile and run emc2 (source included)
 * Synergy CAD/CAM from http://www.webersys.com/
 * samba client and server packages
 * two lightweight window managers (evilwm & xfce4) as well as KDE

For a full list of packages, please see
http://ourproject.org/moin/Package_list.

Minimum computer spec: 400MHz Pentium class processor, 128MB RAM, and 2Gig IDE
disk - 256MB RAM is a recommended minimum, and the bigger the disk, the
better. A CDROM drive that supports booting from CD is also required as there
is no support for boot floppies.

The CD is currently a 616Meg download, so there is space for additional
packages - Some 50Meg can be made available for extra applications.. Please
feel free to nominate your favourite "must have", or perhaps the space can be
used for documentation.

Regards, Paul.
