[Bdi4emc-help] AXIS 1.2rc1 released

You don't have to install Ubuntu to use AXIS 1.2.  You can either wait
until Paul C. maies an AXIS 1.2 debian package available for bdi4, or
you can rebuild emc and axis according to the directions here:

(but instead of using 'apt-get source axis' you would download a new
tarball from the axis.unpy.net website)

To answer your question: yes, the timeguy.com instructions will install
a realtime kernel on an Ubuntu 5.10 system.  They also install a TESTING
version of emc2, and a version of AXIS that works with this version of
emc2.  Please don't follow these instructions on a BDI system.
