I have successfully installed bdi4.30 inside qemu 0.8.0 running on an
Athlon processor.

Performance was slow, and I had to increase BASE_PERIOD (not 100% sure
that's the .ini file variable) or the emulated system would lock up.
However, it allowed me to test that the current CVS version of emc2
would compile and run on this system.
