Licencia: que tan libre es?
Hola gente, me topé con esta herramienta, es un debugger para PHP, pero no me termino de dar cuenta que tan libre es su licencia. Por lo que veo es muy similar a la BSD... Exacto, es una licencia con retencion de la autoria mediante copyright, tiene caracterisiticas promiscuas, ya que habla de los cambios a realizar en binarios de terceros, permite el fork siempre y cuando se mantenga la nota de copyright, no autoriza al uso de la marca o nombre del software original, por lo cual permite obras derivadas que respeten el aviso original de copyright, por lo cual es una licencia del tipo BSD. Es una licencia del tipo asincronica, como la BSD, siendo esta ultima compatible de ¨ida¨ hacia la GPL pero no de vuelta hacia la BSD. Por ende no es una licencia libre sino es una licencia ABIERTA. Lo que muy probablemente Pablo intentó decir es que es una licencia libre no copyleft (como la BSD)[1]. En tanto no tiene una "advertising clause" como la cláusula 3 de la BSD original, a mi juicio _es_ compatible con la GPL, pero si querés podemos hacer la consulta a la FSF.
No creo que sea necesario consultar a la FSF (aunque no estaría mal tampoco), mi inquietud era para saber "qué tanto" puedo utilizar ese soft.

Muy buena la lista, no la tenía en cuenta. No sabía que muchísimo soft que usamos a diario es GPL incompatible... Abrazos!
