Hi Adam, hope you are well. Thanks for sending info through. It looks interesting and I would like to join in but I am working away tuesday to Friday and not sure if I will be able to get internet access. I have never done a webnair thing so not sure how it works but will take my laptop with me and give it a go.Hope the weekends soil hack went well. I have had many distractions over the summer and consequently spent whole weekend on my soil report, hence not coming to soil hack event. It's frustrating that its taking me so long but feels like I am, at last, eventually progressing!warm regardsMatt Date: Mon, 12 Oct 2015 09:01:26 +0100 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [soilhack-announce] 10/15 John Kempf webinar - How to rapidly build soil organic matter Once you scroll past all the preambles you will find the details of how to participate in this free webinar! -- In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model / You create a new model and make the old one obsolete / That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called. // Buckminster Fuller ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Karl Thidemann <[email protected]> Date: 12 October 2015 at 06:41 Subject: [soil-age] 10/15 John Kempf webinar - How to rapidly build soil organic matter To: Soil Age <[email protected]> Friends, John Kempf is a young, pioneering Amish farmer who has gained a following because of his exemplary land stewardship Thanks to Char O'Brien for bringing this webinar to my attention. Capturing Residue to Build Soil Organic Matter WITH JOHN KEMPF AGRONOMIST AND FOUNDER OF ADVANCING ECO AGRICULTURE OCTOBER 15, 2015 7:00 PM TO 7:45 PM ESTREGISTER NOWYou are growing cover crops. Applying manure. Doing everything you can to increase the organic matter content of your soil. And it doesn't seem to change. Many farmers experience this frustration. How can you increase soil organic matter quickly and effectively? There is more to the story of increasing soil organic matter than simply adding organic material. At Advancing Eco Agriculture we have learned how to manage crops and soil microbes to rapidly build soil organic matter. Building stable soil organic matter has nothing to do with how much crop biomass is captured in the soil profile. Instead, it has everything to do with how the lipids and complex carbons are digested by fungi. John Kempf, agronomist and founder of Advancing Eco Agriculture, will be talking about the secrets we use to build soil organic matter very rapidly by triggering specific digestion processes to capture crop residue after harvest and root exudates during the growing season.
