a dream project for the p2p foundation, who can help?
Dear friends, and Vasilis in particular, see http://p2pfoundation.net/Category:Peergovernance#For_Historical_Inspirationa... in particular the historical experiences in democracy it leads to: 1. Athenian Democracy <http://p2pfoundation.net/Athenian_Democracy> ; Foundations of Athenian Democracy<http://p2pfoundation.net/Foundations_of_Athenian_Democracy> 2. Iroquois Confederacy <http://p2pfoundation.net/Iroquois_Confederacy> 3. European Medieval Democracy<http://p2pfoundation.net/European_Medieval_Democracy> 4. Viking Democracy <http://p2pfoundation.net/Viking_Democracy> 5. Pirate Governance <http://p2pfoundation.net/Pirate_Governance> 6. Paris Commune<http://p2pfoundation.net/Category:Peergovernance?title=Paris_Commune&action=edit&redlink=1> I would really love to make this a collective research and study project for the P2P Foundation .. This would involve making a bibliography, finding where the material can be found online, and then organizing some process to read and discuss together, eventually with the aim of publishing a book. We could take one year to brush up on the history; another year to study actual peergovernance and contemporary proposals (6 months each); I feel that finding a renewal of democracy is really one of the crucial issues of our time. However, I'd like someone to take the lead on this .. Vasilis, I was particularly thinking about you ... Dear Michel and all, To begin with, I'd like to thank you very much for this challenging proposal. As I would never withdraw once I have undertaken such a project, it would be best if we (by "we" I refer to the community around P2P foundation) discuss it after my 14-18 of September meeting with the research team of TUT. After that I will know my schedule and sources for the following, 2011-2012, year. Hence, concerning my take, please give me some days and I will return to that :-) All the best, Vasilis On 7 September 2011 09:14, Michel Bauwens <[email protected]> wrote:

I've added reference to Anishinaabe Council of Three Fires, which is a confederacy of tribes that was founded here in Michigan during the 6th century, will add more resources about it, details of governance structure, etc (was and is similar to Iriquois 5 nations) On Wed, Sep 7, 2011 at 2:14 AM, Michel Bauwens <[email protected]> wrote:
