thanks Vasilis ... this is indeed a more long-term project ...
Dear Michel and all,
To begin with, I'd like to thank you very much for this challenging proposal.
As I would never withdraw once I have undertaken such a project, it would be best if we (by "we" I refer to the community around P2P foundation) discuss it after my 14-18 of September meeting with the research team of TUT. After that I will know my schedule and sources for the following, 2011-2012, year.
Hence, concerning my take, please give me some days and I will return to that :-)
All the best,

Dear friends, and Vasilis in particular,
see http://p2pfoundation.net/Category:Peergovernance#For_Historical_Inspiration and in particular the historical experiences in democracy it leads to:
I would really love to make this a collective research and study project for the P2P Foundation ..
- Athenian Democracy ; Foundations of Athenian Democracy
- Iroquois Confederacy
- European Medieval Democracy
- Viking Democracy
- Pirate Governance
- Paris Commune
This would involve making a bibliography, finding where the material can be found online, and then organizing some process to read and discuss together, eventually with the aim of publishing a book. We could take one year to brush up on the history; another year to study actual peergovernance and contemporary proposals (6 months each);
I feel that finding a renewal of democracy is really one of the crucial issues of our time.
However, I'd like someone to take the lead on this .. Vasilis, I was particularly thinking about you ...
Michel
