Dear All,
It's my pleasure to announce the first set of OKCon 2011 video documentation:
More videos and interviews will follow next week.
I noticed that the video of Richard Stallman's talk at that link is now gone. It was there last Friday or Saturday and was removed by Monday. I emailed Daniel Dietrich asking if videos for all speakers have been posted, but recieved no reply. -Karl
let's ask Dietrich again, I'm sure he's been extremely busy with post-processing the conference ... (Dietrich see below) Michel On Sat, Jul 30, 2011 at 5:37 AM, Karl Robillard <[email protected]>wrote:

Hi Michel, Karl We are a bit delayed with the videos. Hopefully next week we will get some more done. The Video of Richards talk was removed from Vimeo because he doesn't like this. We will also publish all videos in an open format (ogg theora) on the Internet Archive. I will let you know asap. Best regards Daniel On 30.07.2011, at 08:30, Michel Bauwens wrote:

aha, it was a problem with the video standard he objected too? Michel On Sun, Jul 31, 2011 at 3:50 PM, Nagarjuna G <[email protected]> wrote:

Yes, Vimeo distributes it in H.264 -- a patented format that is unfriendly to free software. I fully respect his point of view. As mentioned we will later publish all video encoded with ogg theora. Best Daniel On 31.07.2011, at 14:38, Michel Bauwens wrote:

great, then everybody is happy ... some sites with oggformats don't allow embedding, which I think is the worse since, since it really guarantees only very few people will ever see it ... michel On Sun, Jul 31, 2011 at 8:32 PM, Daniel Dietrich <[email protected]>wrote:
