I hope it can be useful for our discussion (and followup). I'm also sending you a more technical document about mapping (oh yes!), the result of the work on trying to find a standard of intercommunication, starting from existing mappings (and very different methodologies) and in a decentralized, flexible way. It's a first version (and in the meantime we've been working on semantic web tools as well), and a "dynamic" tool, that is made to change and be enriched, adapted and adopted... We are looking forward to meeting you soon and having some spirited and constructive discussions! To help you prepare for your travel and our talks, we have prepared several documents that we hope you will consult: ** A General Framing and Agenda of the workshop ** A final list of confirmed participants ** A travel information sheet (directions, addresses, phone numbers) ** A list of advance readings We hope that you will review most of the readings in advance so that we can begin the conversations with a shared base of understanding about relevant topics. Two additional details: In the next two weeks (by August 11), please send me a short bio of yourself. We will compile everyone's bio into a single document and distribute it shortly before our workshop as a way to help us get to know each other more easily. Also, if you have any particularly relevant books, reports or articles that you wish to bring to the attention of others, we will set up a side table to display these materials so that participants can learn about some great literature out there! In the meantime, if you have any questions, please get in touch with me ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]>) or for travel concerns, Ulla Niehaus ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]>).
