To: [email protected] I was a isolated demonetized nomad. I am favela chic, and prefer to use it as a way to get out of it. "Transition to nowhere" ? The vision is autonomy, local "and" globally networked, marginalized finding each other into intentional tribal nomadism, in dialogue, rhizomatic, information rich, getting together into creating our modular ( nomadic ) favela, our own sense of post-market, the swarmed tribe. /// http://bigthink.com/ideas/30959 excerpt : As Sterling recently explained in his closing address at the reboot 11 conference <http://video.reboot.dk/>, one possible scenario for the future is the "favela chic" scenario, in which material wealth is non-existent, but individuals are plugged into the grid and satiated with Facebook and Twitter. some of us may have seen this 2009 video already : http://video.reboot.dk/video/486788/bruce-sterling-reboot-11 in relation to some politicians : "cheerleaders, not leaders" - "they position themselves into the narrative, they do not create infrastructure" regarding favela chic : "favela chic is when you lost everything - its a really cool place to be" "its made out of instructables" , "action is cheaper then control", "just fucking do it" "its a slum" "do things while alive" "objects are frozen social relationships" /// found this link via http://www.facebook.com/groups/120497731371323/?notif_t=group_activity http://www.forbes.com/sites/venkateshrao/2011/10/17/kubler-ross-and-occupywa...
