Have you packed your suitcase? *Il fait chaud à France! *30 degrees C! Dress lightly and bring a fan! The festivities start in Paris with the Fab City Summit on July 12. FAB14 Distributed events take place July 14, 15 across the country. And the main FAB14 conference in Toulouse starts next Monday, July 16 for 5 days, followed by the Fab Festival on July 22, 23. Our week in Toulouse is filled with hands-on workshops, collaborations in research and community challenges, talks by digifab peers and experts, drone and car competitions, a collaborative maquette construction of the city, new free resources, visits to Airbus, exhibitions and more! Toulouse is beautiful, the people are lovely, the wine and cheese, *incroyable*! A very special thank you to our French hosts this year: The Regional Council of Occitanie <http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001tAXnsUzNUB1Cxcpp-_8SDP3VIJKvGQZcLoR2X7wqZQYTfec7vyZRcW0l4fluuE4lLVntZQDkMiHBT3L_k4JoSU1cPQt87YTL__pay0Qvev85he_I9XxTdrVl--XzlyWCcLoSZvIa6dh-ztPhxtaiyI4q_i_674JEA0nHd-8f8kI=&c=sc43QoOmCoSQWim1rQcq8c8Uv9t-FiAi2wgTmkz08PB5a-GGdjU6MA==&ch=Wej27z9jKLqh9JXd34QgxmG-mE86g_wnobpHe_gsS2h4PRYcs3wo5A==>, Toulouse Metropole <http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001tAXnsUzNUB1Cxcpp-_8SDP3VIJKvGQZcLoR2X7wqZQYTfec7vyZRcW0l4fluuE4lu8ku4nJfV_m8ZrCvsOwXX5hJz6zYOZyVqP7h3bonmuqFUBedSjrkK87_zfHoxlnq55G9z1Nvd9VjwrgJCIKm1jGZUl4pkgNJPGpt2wAGnp31yzcXlhMrE1M5nNG1hVU5&c=sc43QoOmCoSQWim1rQcq8c8Uv9t-FiAi2wgTmkz08PB5a-GGdjU6MA==&ch=Wej27z9jKLqh9JXd34QgxmG-mE86g_wnobpHe_gsS2h4PRYcs3wo5A==> and Artilect FabLab de Toulouse <http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001tAXnsUzNUB1Cxcpp-_8SDP3VIJKvGQZcLoR2X7wqZQYTfec7vyZRcW0l4fluuE4lWSciB4EonzS_DVAThNwW_RF1Ddtcm8lQZ-Qt1Ryo2S01CDjhs2O713mOECdnyaApHdqJxl2NVijlQJTuKLPRmfq_M3248fjaRrXCe68kH-s=&c=sc43QoOmCoSQWim1rQcq8c8Uv9t-FiAi2wgTmkz08PB5a-GGdjU6MA==&ch=Wej27z9jKLqh9JXd34QgxmG-mE86g_wnobpHe_gsS2h4PRYcs3wo5A==>. When Formlabs sold out of the Form 1+ SLA printer, our latest machine - the Form 2 - became the best-selling desktop stereolithography 3D printer on the market. In the spirit of continuous innovation, we want to enable the tech community to find value in their spare parts and inspire people to look at older devices in a new way. We're inviting the FAB14 community to help give eight retired Form 1+ printers a new purpose by using the high quality components inside to invent new machines. This will be an ongoing opportunity throughout the week! You can Tweet photos of your project and a short description to @formlabs to share your work. We'll be checking in throughout the week and promoting your creative ideas among our online community of Formlabs users. *Challenge Drones FAB14* Airbus, Continental, Renault and Thales, all partners of Fablab Artilect and sponsors for FAB14, are organizing a Drone challenge during "Mobility" day on Tuesday, July 17. There will be a race in which forty teams will face off, flying and rolling drones they have fabricated themselves. This first-time public collaboration between them is a window into the commitment these major corporations are making to the public as they cooperate, innovate, manufacture, share and collaboratively design the mobility of tomorrow. * Announcing FREE ACCESS to SOLIDWORKS xDesign for Fab Labs! * Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS has been a great Founding Partner for Fab Foundation, both in starting new Fab Labs, such as the Rwanda and Bhutan labs, as well as facilitating all Fab Labs with its state-of-the-art 3D CAD tools. SOLIDWORKS xDesign is a cloud-based 3D CAD Application that runs in a browser, is device-agnostic, and can be used anytime, anywhere with no installation required.
