Hi, :-D It was just an isohybrid related problem, see: http://musixdistro.wordpress.com/2013/11/01/musix-gnulinux-3-0-rc2-released/ Installation The recommended method is burning a DVD and install from there. If you dont have a DVD device and only can boot from USB pendrive you need to: 1) execute: isohybrid file.iso 2) copy the ISO image to the USB memory: cat file.iso > /dev/sdX ...usually /dev/sdb [warning, this will erase all your files on that device] 3) sync (to flush kernel filesystem buffers) and 4) just reboot from the USB pendrive and choose install. Or refer to Debian installation for USB. (you can use it for rc1 too...) Please, report, thanks! -- Marcos Guglielmetti ▲ :::::::::::::::::: M U S I X ::::::::::::::::::::: ▼ ((*J*)) www.musixdistro.wordpress.com www.lunar.org.ar www.ovejafm.com Para encontrarte con activistas del movimiento social del software libre: http://listas.softwarelibre.org.ar/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/movimiento "The beginning of the mistake is from growing meat for the king and wine for the church." http://www.context.org/ICLIB/IC14/Fukuoka.htm

installing Musix 3.0 rc1 using dd to copy the iso image to an USB pendrive?
by Marcos G. 01 Nov '13

please, can you try this method? http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=48602 dd if=musix.iso of=/dev/sdX "It will destroy all partitioning on your usb drive and set up everything automatically. E.g. 1GB flash drive will have a 700MB partition with the Debian installer or Livecd and then you will have 200-300MB space to create another parition." make sure you will write to your pendrive USB and not the HD during the dd copy of the iso, please.
