Hi ! I am glad that translation looks all right, just wondered about fonts display at your side, but UTF-8 is ok. Now I need really some advice how I would be able to check the new menu script etc. For some time I use Musix2 on pendrive but without persistence, since I didn't succeed to install it according to the respective instruction. Consequently here will be no possibility to update menu script and install the new instructions. Should I meantime install Musix2 on hard disk? Or could I get the new Musix3 for test purposes? Your kind information and help will be much appreciated. Im working on a UTF-8 system. Fonts seems to be displayed correctly. Could you give me some more information about these problems? I will send a copy of the new update-menu script and the new translations with installation instructions. Maybe you could make a few tests to see if fonts and menus are generated properly. Cheers! Dear Ariel Thanks for the new updater script and instructions. Sorry to write but I was unable to unzip the file in question in my Musix2 live. I have tried to unzip/untar file by other means in Windows system, but the resulting file was not recognized when trying to copy the script as per your instructions. I must frankly admit, that I am not versatile in sudo commands, thus the results were quite often poor. I would need very exact and detailed instructions in this case. Alternatively if I can ask for a preference to make available the download of Musix3 beta live usb for testing purposes, all problems would be solved. Your kind advice will be much appreciated. Example for catalan: cd ca sudo cp icewm_update_menu.sh.mo /usr/share/locale/ca/LC_MESSAGES/ 3. Backup any menu file you have in your ~/.icewm/ folder. Script will overwrite current without asking. 4. Run the script as normal user. Test, if everything's gone right, you'll have a nice organized menu in your language. Please report any issues. Hi ! Thanks a lot for your kind advice. I have learned quite a few things how to operate the terminal. Your instructions were followed accordingly. Everything went right until no. 8: running the script, which was evidently not done?! When I opened afterwards icewm folder, I found both files menu-old and new the same without translation. What is worse, after computer further restart I found all the previous changes cancelled and only the original attachment copied to /home/musixuser remained in place. Thus I have realized again, that Musix2 in live mode even on usb stick, but without persistent property could not be corrected, ev. tested etc. I could try to install again Musix2 in live mode on usb, but I need the detailed instructions how to make it as persistent! So I kindly ask for further help and advice. Beta version of musix 3 (it is alpha in fact, but mistakenly I call it beta) is available only in spanish. Thats one of the reasons it is not available at Musix's website or wiki. 1. Download the attachment to the user's home folder (that would be /home/musixuser, correct this in case default user is not musixuser, its been a while since I last used musix 2). 2. Open a terminal. Then type: tar xfv update_menu.tar.gz 3. This will decompress the file. You will have now a new folder named "update_menu". Now we have to change into that directory: cd update_menu 4. In this directory there are two files and three folders. One of the files is the script. We are now changing the script's permissions to make it executable (this step is new and just in case): chmod +x icewm_update_menu.sh 5. Now we copy the script to the bin folder, we need root privileges to do that, we type: sudo cp icewm_update_menu.sh /bin/ 6. Then we copy the translation file to the locale folder. We also need sudo command to get root privileges. In this case we type: sudo cp pl/icewm_update_menu.sh.mo /usr/share/locale/pl/LC_MESSAGES/ 7. We make a backup of the current menu, just in case: cp ~/.icewm/menu ~/.icewm/menu-old 8. Now we run the script, typing: icewm_update_menu 9. We wait a few seconds for the process to finish.
