Hi all
It's been suggested to me that it would be useful to get JoPP some more institutional recognition. Does anyone have a clue about whether it would be desirable and / or advisable to get JoPP listed into Scopus or ThomsonReuters Web of Science? Scopus is run by Elsevier which is obvs not great and after a brief look on their site I could not find info on how to be indexed. On the other hand Thomson does indicate what their criteria for inclusion is:

No doubt it would be nice to get some institutional recognition for JoPP. Personally I don't use neither of those resources anymore to look for bibliography, but I remember lots of people were using the web of science when i was doing my phd in delft.
However they seem to have requirements which may be hard to meet - such as a DOI for each article...? is this a way to exclude non-corporate publications? Would pursuing this be a good idea? Do we need to revisit the idea of raising money for JoPP?
Hmmm...how much would it cost to get a DOI for each article? Does anyone know?
Thoughts?
cheers
Mathieu

I wonder if we could get into WorldCat via a friendly university library ... ?

Dear all, I'm Massimo Menichinelli from IAAC | Fab Lab Barcelona and Aalto University - School of Arts, Design and Architecture - Department of Media - Media Lab Helsinki (this is my first message to the list). Regarding DOI, could it be interesting to check or contact Zenodo (from CERN)? I normally use it in order to have a DOI for my software releases, but maybe it could be used also for the journal. https://zenodo.org/features https://zenodo.org/faq Furthermore, the source code is available under GPL: https://github.com/zenodo/zenodo On 06/10/16 08:41, Dr. Peter Troxler wrote:

Hi Massimo and Peter, Somehow I missed your messages on this topic so apologies for not responding. Very interesting suggestions from both but I will refrain from following up and clogging people's inboxes with "technical / coordination" content until we have decided whether to create a dedicated list as suggested by Zack. cheers Mathieu ________________________________ From: JoPP-Public <[email protected]> on behalf of Massimo Menichinelli <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 6, 2016 20:15 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JoPP-Public] Inclusion in Scopus or ThomsonReuters Web of Science Dear all, I'm Massimo Menichinelli from IAAC | Fab Lab Barcelona and Aalto University - School of Arts, Design and Architecture - Department of Media - Media Lab Helsinki (this is my first message to the list).
